Moderators Jeff Howe Posted June 3 Moderators Posted June 3 While preparing for the Austin Super Regional against Oregon, Jim Schlossnagle and Texas landed a massive transfer portal commitment on Wednesday, adding former Texas Tech INF Linkin Garcia to the 2027 roster. A projected top-100 prospect for the 2027 MLB Draft, the 6-foot-5-inch, 218-pound Garcia hit .339 with 18 doubles, four home runs, 58 RBI and 53 runs scored in 55 games for the Red Raiders as a freshman. 34 1 1 Quote
pinkman_90 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 6ft5 220lb Shortstop? Or will he slide to one of the corners maybe? Quote

With A-Rod coming back, my guess is Garcia will be at third. If Borba comes back, he’ll be at first base. EDIT: Confirmed from a source that Texas has recruited Garcia to play third base. Could be a hellacious left side of the infield between Garcia and A-Rod. 22 Quote
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted June 3 Moderators Posted June 3 Like the addition. Not a huge power bat yet, but certainly has the frame for adding the long ball. 11 Quote

Tom Herman Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Great gap power, in the 97th percentile for exit velos. Hopefully he can have tulo help him lift the ball more for more homers. The Gap to gap power is huge tho. Disgusting left side of the infield now 2 Quote

Alex Butler Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Why is he leaving tech? Seems like such a stable respectable school and leadership, maybe he didn’t feel like gambling his future there and Texas was a better bet… 10 Quote
