I don't like it, but they aren't doing anything illegal.

I akin it to when a Longhorn does something like hit a homerun and throws up the Hook'em.  If you don't like it, don't let them do it. And Texas is one of the schools that is able to go toe to toe with Tech when it comes to money.  It's whether Texas wants to or not.  There are other strategies involved.

?   Gambling on your team or against your team is not allowed by the NCAA or any other league as far as I know.  That makes it illegal if you compete in that league.  He breached his NCAA contract.  I am not aware of any sports league that would allow such behavior.  This is NOT an issue of preference!

Tech has made a mockery out of the NCAA which ultimately means they have disrespected everyone that competes in the NCAA sports arena from D1 through D3.

By the way, this has nothing to do with NIL!  And, I am not sure your favorite schools hand signal is even in the same conversation. Hookem, I've got a serious issue with your response.

Sorsby was also underage when betting as Indiana and Cincinnati which illegal.

This is an absurd take. Horns up and gambling on your own team are not remotely close to being the same thing. Also, illegal has nothing to do with it. Gambling on your own team is morally reprehensible. This is why all leagues have rules against it. Tech supporting this behavior is entirely self serving especially when they voted to strengthen gambling restrictions just six months ago. It’s not illegal but Sorsby and now tech are directly violating the most sacrosanct rule in sports. There should be consequences.

The only problem I see is one side is arguing emotionally about right wrong, and the other side is arguing from a legal viewpoint.

Someone with a clear understanding of right and wrong doesn’t need a courtroom

lol, Hitler, Stalin, Mao and every other desperate that ever killed 1 million people or more said the exact same thing.

I prefer order and courtrooms. As I said, I believe in our court system it usually gets it right. I still think the eventual outcome will be that Texas Tech will have to vacate any wins and their season will be ruined.

The point is right and wrong, not legality. Tech did nothing illegal, Sorbsy did. That, however, doesn’t mean they are doing the right thing by challenging the NCAA ruling. And most believe that their actions, while legal, are wrong.

lol, you folks are funny.

If this happened 5 years ago, all of this crowd would be saying "Tech belongs in the SEC with all the other cheaters".

This kind of thing has always happened, but we did not have the internet and it was always swept under the rug.  Sports is so much cleaner now than it used to be.  There is far less cheating because we live in a world where anybody can be a reporter and social media is listening.

Nobody should be surprised that Texas Tech is fighting to get their star QB on the field.  This is also backfiring in the most glorious way.  I hope BS plays.  I hope they are forced to vacate all of their games.  College football will be better for it.
