Parking at games

Where’s a safe and not crazy expensive place to park on game days? I’ve seen passes for hundred bucks…. Would rather be in a lot to tailgate a little! Thank yall 🤘🏻

You can find spots either north (Dean Keeton Blvd) or south (MLK Blvd), outside of campus grounds.

Think I’d be able to just show up on game day and find parking ? Or would you think I’d have to get a parking pass prior?

You have to get there pretty early, no matter game time as tailgaters start setting up by 7am. At least that’s how it used to be. I haven’t had to set one up in quite a few years. Got to the age where I just got to attend finally 😂

Yeah I’m not too worried about the later games as I’d get there early. But the 11 am kick offs will be hard

Where are your seats at? That actually matters for parking way more than people think.

Mine are on the east side, so I park on the east side and shuttle straight into Gate 14 -- cheap, safe, and you’re basically dropped right at the stadium. Don't quote me on this, but Costs like $10–$20 depending on the game. Call Cap-Metro Call CapMetro Customer Service at 512‑474‑1200 and ask for the Texas Football Game Day Shuttle schedule. They’ll tell you the exact frequency for the specific game. and what lots to park in like 70, 80, and 84. These are the bigger lots east of 35...again, call cap metro to confirm. 

You park in one of those shuttle lots, walk maybe 2–3 minutes to the shuttle pickup, and the shuttle drops you right on the east side near Gate 14. Short walk, cheap parking, and the buses run every few minutes both before and after the game.

i used to do the old Guadalupe/51st shuttle but this doesn’t run anymore --- CapMetro consolidated everything into the East Campus route.

If your seats are on the north side, the closest option is Manor Garage, but the exit is rough. No shuttle drops on the north side - you’d still enter on the east and walk inside the stadium.

If your seats are on the west side, Trinity Garage is the closest, but again, no shuttle drops over there. You’d still use the East Campus shuttle and walk inside the stadium to the west concourse.

If you want the “park close and barely walk” experience without paying donor prices, the shuttle is the move no matter where your seats are.

I recommend a parking pass  unless you want to walk a country mile.

I have season tickets in the East Campus Garage. I find anything closer than that means a very dragged out entry and exit. Parking on campus takes forever.

You'll be able to find parking. It just could be far away (.5 miles or more).

It really depends on how far you want to walk.  For big games, people park as far north as 38th, which is about 15 blocks from DKR.
