Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 1 hour ago Moderators Posted 1 hour ago With the Longhorns set to hit the field for the start of preseason practice next week, it’s time for On Texas Football to provide a pre-camp snapshot of the Texas depth chart. This is what we expect the depth chart to look like when the Longhorns open camp, not a projection of what it will look like when the first official depth chart is released for the Sept. 5 season opener against Texas State. The high school signees (including John Meredith III) and additional players picked up from the transfer portal who weren’t with the team for spring practice have been added to the depth chart, as they weren't included in our post-spring practice snapshot. According to Steve Sarkisian, Texas will enter camp with a healthy team. Except for offensive lineman Kaden Scherer, who suffered a serious knee injury early in spring practice, the players who missed all or parts of spring practice while recovering from surgery or injuries are on the depth chart. Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 1 hour ago Author Moderators Posted 1 hour ago A couple of notes: — John Meredith's profile still doesn't appear on the official roster, which is why he doesn't have a jersey number or height and weight next to his name. — We put Kobe Black on the depth chart at cornerback and safety. — The same goes for Jonathan Cunningham, who's listed on the official roster at linebacker but was with the safeties in the spring. — For the most part, this depth chart mirrors where things were at the end of spring practice. Again, this isn't our projection for what the depth chart for the opener will look like for the opener. This is, by and large, how we expect it to look for the first practice. 9 Quote
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 1 hour ago Moderators Posted 1 hour ago Plenty of talent here, but also plenty of competition. Cant wait to see which positions change over the next month. 3 Quote
Alex Butler Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Seeing these heights and weights im amaz at how big these dudes are especially defensive tackles. I forget Justus Terry is 6-5!!! 3 Quote
akhookem Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago We all know how talented this roster is, but in my opinion what separates this roster into another category is that nearly all of the superior talent and key guys are in their Junior year or older. Absolutely love that. Sometimes talent and experience doesn’t line up, but this year you look at all of the best players and they’ve been in college for at least 2 years. On offense the only starter as of now that is not a Jr or older is Townsend. Defense only Lance Jackson, Littleton, and Phillips are your only 3. This is the best opportunity to do something special, hope the team can stay healthy and capitalize because you don’t get these types of rosters mixed with experience very often. 2 Quote

sbk Posted 23 minutes ago Posted 23 minutes ago I’m assuming LG is because Seymour wasn’t here for spring and will have to work his way up the depth chart in camp? 1 Quote
