Saw him homer on his first ever swing. Went and did some yard work outside for a couple hours. I should not have went outside. I missed the best MLB debut in history!

Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Auston Matthews scored four goals in his NHL debut against the Ottawa Senators. He scored on his first two shots in the league.

Also, in 1950, Whitey Ford, age 21, called up from the minors, went 9 and 1.  Spent the next two years in the military, but came back in 1953 and went 18 and 6, proving it was no fluke.

A seasonal debut, not a first game effort, but it was pretty amazing when it happened.
