I know it's not everything, but do you imagine he'll be a 5 star by the end of the year?

He will have a chance but he'd truly have to go nuclear. He already checks all the boxes for a high ranking — unreal production, great track times with great football speed, great bloodlines, he loves football, etc. The only holdup is the fact he's 5-foot-7.5/8 and it's hard to project that into the first round of the NFL draft, which is what a five-star ranking means. And the tread on the tires might cause some pause as well.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the only RB under 5-foot-8 (he was 5-7, 202 at the combine) that's been selected in the first round in the last 20 years. And he went 32 overall and would not go 32 overall again. That's the problem sometimes is the league will miss on a prospect that should've never been taken in the first round so when a different but somewhat similar player (usually in measurements) comes around they feel more convicted in not drafting him round 1. That also works the opposite way when a team hits on a traitsy but raw prospect who ends up "hitting". That then inspires other teams to draft similar prospects because they fall in love with the upside and forget about the bust rate. Jeff makes this point a lot, but this is also kinda what happened with WR recruiting under Mack Brown after he "hit" on Limas Sweed.

If someone was to provide hope for LWC being worth a 1st rounder, it'd be Jahmyr Gibbs, who went 12 overall in 2023. Gibbs was 5-9, 199 at the combine and LWC isn't a carbon copy of Gibbs, but he's closer to Gibbs' play style than he is Edwards-Helaire imo. 

TLDR: We'll see, but I wouldn't expect him to finish in the top 32 as a five-star. He'll likely finish between 33-50 which is where he's at right now. And as much as I love LWC, it's really hard to project as getting drafted ahead of David Gabriel Georges or Kemon Spell who are legitimate freakshows. And like you said, it doesn't really matter. A projected 2nd round pick is still pretty damn good, and if you have to remember how small he is.
