The Michigan vs WMU ending

The clock situation is one story. But there’s something nobody is really talking about. What’s up with that last play call on defense?!? They rushed 4 guys and had a spy, so five guys at or near the line of scrimmage. With one second left you gotta rush three (maybe four) and put everybody else in the end zone.

one second left. No controversy.  Herbstreit and Musbueger both immediately after replay said one second was the right call. Last night the Dadgum ball was in the air with no time left on the clock. It wasn’t close. There was no cover other than a Big 10 network not wanting to make the conference look bad.

Let’s get real the biggest mistake Michigan made was the all maize uniforms.

They are now saying the clock in the stadium was 1 second off from the official clock the replay booth had access to, and when the ball touched the WMU player, there was one second left. They showed the evidence at around midnight after the entire country called then crooks. They got it right. Heartbreaker for WMU.

So how many clocks are there? I would think the one in the stadium that everyone can see should be the one they go by, but I guess not.

It seems legit per specific rule…but man you feel bad for WMU.

 

Also…Michigan is going to get toasted multiple times this year. Ohio State might put up 50.

The Big 10 argument makes zero sense. There is nothing to suggest the clock on the broadcast started early. Are they saying the broadcast clock ran faster than the official clock? Because nine seconds is nine seconds. And they had literally just "reset the game clock" to nine seconds. So, it isn't like there were really 9.9 seconds on the official clock, but only 9 seconds on the broadcast clock. I watched it in real time and I would find it incredibly hard to believe that the play took less than nine seconds.

 

But I also agree with the comment that WMU got too cute with their defense. It makes zero sense to "blitz" a fourth rusher there.
