Respectfully, you could not be more wrong. CDC implemented this policy of first come first serve for the student section I believe in 2018 and it has completely revolutionized the environment at Texas games.  The student section is jam packed, loud, raucous and right next to the opposing bench.

It is such a huge departure from what was back in the 2000’s where the students were isolated in corners of the upper deck in about 8 different sections.

I’m not questioning the effectiveness of the crowd. I’m just picturing kids lining up over a day in advance in 100 degrees then entrances getting bull rushed once they’re opened. Again, I could be wrong since I was not a student when the change was made. But it seems like that has occurred based on comments I’ve read.

As a current student, they have security and guide students in. They only allow a batch of students whenever gates open (3:30) to control the flow. I'm currently in line with a group of friends and we usually swap in and out whos in line so we can stay fresh and go about our day while still helping each other out.

The same groups will camp outside overnight, only for it to be a mad dash into the stadium when the gates open, to get the front row seats - specifically where the cameras film. 

Frats also have their pledges run in early as well, and they try to lay claim to an entire row (or multiple rows). 

The student section is also too small to accomodate the number of students who would like to attend, so about half of the Big Ticket holding students don't get the chance to go to games.

Many more issues as well...

That sure wasn't the case last week. Plenty of empty seats.

Texas St day game vs. Ohio St night game. Last week there were plenty of empty seats throughout the entire stadium.
