He wasn’t wrong if we had okayed up to our standard this would have been one of those games. Arch looked meh, o-line looked meh, rb meh, wr meh, te meh, and we get a meh offensive output.

Harden to imagine that Arch is one the top two or three QBs on this roster. If he is, the future is not bright for Texas.

I really do wonder if the off field drama from this last week played a larger factor in the preparation for this game. The entire offense besides the RBs looked like they didn’t wanna be there yesterday.

Arch seems to pick and choose when he wants to actually play football and it’s only in times of chaos. That’s gotta be super frustrating for a coach.

Arch, is not skilled at reading coverages, think he didn’t have to do it in high school due to low level competition. Problem is he hasn’t significantly improved: locks to one receiver, scared to read middle of field since he can’t/doesn’t like to throw there. Time to put on the warby Parker’s, and get this thing going. BTW, to say he’s in Vince or Colt league is laughable, not sure when it’s said and done, he’s better than Quinn…TBD

He’s had some really good moments, but there’s still a long way to go before I’d put him in that kind of company. The consistency just isn’t there yet, and that’s usually what separates the very good players from the guys people remember for years.

For now I’d rather let it play out instead of forcing the comparison too early. It’s a bit like a Casombie Casino https://casombie-fr.fr/ where one hot run at the games or slots can look impressive, but you need a lot more than a few good stretches before you start calling it elite.

 

 

The Vince and Colt comparisons were always doing way too much. If the reads stay this limited, the offense is gonna keep looking stuck no matter who is getting open.

The lack of high school competition part is way overrated in talking about Arch. Reason being, Peyton and Eli played at the same school, against the same lower level competition. 

Just wanted to point that out.

What?!?! Let’s pump the breaks here he had a bad game and is 15-3 as a starter at Texas. How quickly we forget all the years between Colt and Sam and Sam and Quinn.

Arch started slow last year. I think missing  spring practice set Arch back a little bit. He is also a classic gunslinger and he was way off against UTSA. Arch sometimes raises and lowers his play to the level of competition. He is a winner though and improved bynleaps and bounds last year. One game at a time.

Has Muschamp been a better DC than Sark has been an OC.  According to Sark they are both head coaches on different sides of the ball.  No knock but the offense has traditionally started slow under Sarkisian and definitely get better as the year goes along.   Additional thought is as long as Texas can pound the rock and wear out defenses and force an additional player in the box both sides of the ball will flourish.  Sark just has to get away from the finesse style offense and force the issue.
