Texas offers 2027 Clemson LB/EDGE commit RJ Hudson

Hudson is a 6-2, 215 pounder out of Virginia with some really intriguing track numbers. Primarily plays EDGE in HS but I’m under the assumption this is an offer to play offball LB.

First that comes to mind and I truly wish happens is JayQuan Snell, but that would be real tough to pull him away from aggy

I think someone already mentioned it but very Okpala like. I believe Okpala played Edge but was being recruited as LB, right?

A&M has guys that would probably stay closer to home … the big NIL guys.

Might as well start pillaging. I have a feeling ole BV may not last this season if OU gets boat raced by Georgia and lose to us again. There is no way they make the playoffs with that many loses. I know it's still early to think about the portal already but would Fasusi be interested with Goosby going to the NFL after this season?

Good point on pillaging but BV just signed an extension with OU so they're basically forced to right the BV experiment out now. Much more fun to watch those types of situations from afar than to have them in your athletics program. 

As far as Fasusi, I don't think he has it in him to enter the transfer portal and go to OU's main rival. I also wouldn't expect him to leave Norman as long as OU OL coach Bill Bedenbaugh is there. He chose OU over Texas twice out of HS and took significantly less money each time, and a big part was he wanted to play and get developed by Bedenbaugh, who he had the best relationship with out of all the coaches recruiting him.

Good. Let him stay there and lose to us every year. Also I hope BV gets several more years. I was excited when ou hired him. He is a jag at best

This kid was down to Clemson and OU and chose OU. A big reason was the kid and his family used to live in Clemson and he went to the same church as Venables and his family which had kids around the same age as Schell. The Schell's and Venables are family friends and Venables had a pretty unique relationship with Schell. It's also worth mentioning that regardless of what your opinion is on him or the way he's managed the OU program, Venables is still one of the best in CFB when it comes to LBs and defense. I do think his decision is pretty telling of the future of Clemson considering Schell and his family lived in Clemson and are/were big Clemson fans but decided to go to OU and not Clemson.

Actually really like this kid and think he's a good player. I was introduced to him during his freshman year when he was at Under Armour Atlanta and only had two offers from Akron and Miami of Ohio at the time. Not a five-star level guy but a really good all around prospect. Texas offered him this spring and hosted him for a spring practice visit but it was always gonna be hard to beat out Clemson or OU with the connections Schell and his family had to both places
