Roysterr Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Do you think we can hold on to all 3 of them during transfer portal? There not getting a lot of snaps. Quote
Califashorn75 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 They are true freshman. They should stick around. Quote
AusMOJO Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Yeah, I have a feeling there will be a huge effort to retain a lot of defensive players while adding key players at positions (at least one experienced LB comes to mind and maybe a S. Just off the top of my head anyway). I would've liked to see them get a bit more run to build depth but perhaps it's a trust thing? 1 Quote
Bobby Burton Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I'm not throwing shade or anything of the sort on Tyler Atkinson. But Okpala and Cummings are likely priorities IMO. 5 1 Quote

Portal retention is gonna matter more than a few extra garbage-time snaps. An experienced LB addition could help, but keeping that young depth intact is the bigger win. 1 Quote

CageRader Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Atkinson seems to be more aligned as a player to TyAnthony Smith where he makes plays in space and requires more freedom to improvise as opposed to being a scheme based LB that fits in a specific role/responsibility under Muschamp's defense. He plays more like a "turn him loose and let him attack the ball" guy IMO. Just what I am thinking. Nothing against Atkinson as I like that style generally as those players make a ton of big plays, but also know that gap risk has consequences too. I hope we can make it work with Tyler. Quote
