It wasn't set in stone until today. We knew it was going to be an early kickoff.

Lame!! Would like this to be a night game but hopefully it’ll be a raucous crowd and the gators get poor sleep

I am surprised Alabama/Tenn or Ole Miss/Mizz isn’t a night game. Until this week it seemed that the SEC scheduled a really good game in each time slot to dominate TV windows. 
 

My guess is that the MLB playoffs had something to do with no premier SEC night game. That is my only guess for the change in scheduling strategy.
