I didn't know if he would be useful playing another position, or even if he could. That's been an issue with offensive linemen early on trying to pick up the system. For example, DJ Campbell could only play right guard early in his career. I don't know if they've looked at Seymore at other spots or if he's capable of doing it (he played both guard spots at Miami and played nine snaps in one game at center while he was at Akron, FWIW). I'm wondering if anyone in the know on the board knows about the repair/recovery of Goosby's injury. This young man came back for a final season and part of the reason was to help his Longhorns in an area of need. I hope he can make a full recovery and be off to the NFL. So, funny story. I blew my patellar tendon in Sept. 2021 playing left guard in D2 ball. As the surgeon, who did knee surgeries for Sam Bradford and Adrian Peterson, among others described it, it's a "traumatic, violent injury" if it's a full tear of the tendon (mine was). Basically, rough A&P lesson says the patellar tendon connects the upper leg muscles to the lower leg muscles. Essentially, can't put any weight on that leg because, well, it doesn't work. Rehab didn't start for 6 weeks post-op and really wasn't back to feeling like myself until spring of 2023, which was nearly 18 months. It's an injury you can make a full recovery from, especially if you have University of Texas/NFL level of care instead of D2 football care. However, definitely an invasive procedure (had 22 staples) with a very not fun rehab. The level of athlete he is plus the level of care he'll get, he might be able to push and be back around August/Sept. next year. But without a doubt, his offseason and any spring/OTA type stuff is nuked. Quote
SETXAN Posted 48 minutes ago Posted 48 minutes ago (edited) With the downhill ability of MT3, I would really like to see some 21 personnel with MT3/Leek and whoever the heck shows the most ability as the run blocking TE (liked seeing Masunas get the ball some but man those holds were tough). That would disguise the type of run you are setting up, Thunder or Lightning? Edited 47 minutes ago by SETXAN Quote
AlecOsborne5 Posted 27 minutes ago Posted 27 minutes ago I loved what I saw from Cojoe in the run game along with Michael Terry. I am very excited to see Terry continue to grow and develop at the position. I think he needs to be a lot more involved going forward. Dominate the run game with all the backs and Arch. Then you can throw from there. Quote
