Got informed today that I got laid off from my job today.  Mechanical (project) engineer at an aerospace company for 11 years.

Love you all

No sin in getting knocked down, only in not getting up.

Hang in there guy and give'em hell!

More time to watch the games. Silver lining in everything.

Silver lining is that I got a severance from my last employer.  Got to wait until mid September to get that money.  Watching more games is a bonus.

In an update, I have two interviews scheduled for later this week for new opportunities.  Hoping more interview opportunities will be coming my way.  Thanks all.

Keep us posted man. Prepare for the interviews. Wishing you good luck!

Praying for you. You got knocked down. Only way to go now is up. Wake up with a purpose tomorrow. God bless you.

Update as of today; I have had numerous interviews and put in applications to different places.

I may have job offers coming soon, had some very good interviews recently and feel positive about a new opportunity coming my way soon.

Thanks all

That sucks. Trust in God to provide when it's darkest.

Awesome. I just prayed for you. If anybody ever needs to talk about things related to God, feel free to reach out.

Thanks.  I know God has a plan for me.

Not your fault, and thanks.

That's always bad news.

The economy is going down - fast.  All of my clients had a nice surge after Covid which fattened their bank accounts, but this last year or so have been a steady downward trend.  Good luck in your search.

Stock market would say you are seriously wrong in your economic judgement.

Being in O&G, I experienced 5 or 6 of these events.  Rarely do they have anything to do with you other than you are the one that has to climb out of the hole and make something happen.  And you will.  You have obviously been successful in the past and you should expect to be successful in your job hunt as well.  I believe God does have a plan for us, but he ain't sain' what it is.  I am confident we won't abandon you having brought you this far, but it is up to you to get it done.  Sounds like you are putting in the work and I beleive you will reap the rewards.   Still, the hardest job you will ever have is looking for a job.  Stay positive and enjoy each success you have.  Each one is leading you to your goal.

This is excellent advice. I also worked in Oil and Gas for 35+ years and was laid off in Houston in 1986. Started a new job in Dallas the month my severance ended and sold my house in Houston for a significant loss.

Dallas job turned out well and as I moved up I saw layoffs from management side.

I believe jobs are eliminated 'lined out " but the people in those jobs are blameless.

Best wishes and stay positive!

Final update, just got an offer yesterday from a smaller aerospace company near my place.  Similar to the same pay I had at my last job, but received a promotion.  First day at the new job will be November 11.  Thanks for the support all.
