Top programs will spend an estimated 20-25 million. That’s what I have heard several times.

FSU, Colorado, and Clemson are cautionary tails in the days of NIL. FSU and Colorado show the problems that come with trying to build a program through the portal instead of just filling gaps. Clemson because of Dabo’s stupid refusal to fill any gaps through the portal.

A lot of the NIL data is coming from Openendorse's Black Book, which supposedly details about 30% of the estimated $1.7 billion NIL market (my source is the Athletic, via NY Times - link below - may need a sub to access it).

Here are some of the tables in the article: they quote average for P4 starters and for position players in the SEC - FSU is paying much more than the average ACC program but roughly 60% of the SEC.

A 5 star safety today costs 850K..  Way over 17 million...

Yeah, think a lb commit made a visit after hearing about this  to get a raise.    Loves Texas, just wants to be paid. I get it.  Oregon is costing the rest of the power 2 a lot of nil money.
