Update on 5-star

You guys and gals have asked a few times about 5-star OT and Oklahoma commit Michael Fasusi. There had not been any contact with Texas as of late last week.

OTF is hearing that is no longer the case. Nothing serious, but there has now been light communication.

We shall see if it goes anywhere with Texas.

To be clear, Texas isn’t the only school that has been attempting to engage with the Sooners verbal.

I have a feeling that this light communication will become increasingly heavy as the bad losses accumulate and the head coaching uncertainty builds.

Just FYI - Gerry is on the road today. Long drive to the Southeast on I-10 but he is making calls and will check in periodically. Just wanted to let y'all know. If he gets anything pressing, he will post it.

This is why you don’t worry about recruiting until signing day.  All programs sell a vision, but at the end of the day, the games have to be played, and recruits get to see who’s real and who’s bullspitting.

That being said, I think Fasusi sticks with OU unless OU parts ways with Bedenbaugh.

I thought Kyle Flood can’t develop anymore because of a below average game vs Georgia???

To be fair, the run blocking has not improved much since Flood has been at Texas, but every other aspect of the OL room (i.e, size, pass protection, recruiting, draft picks) has.  That’s my only criticism of Flood so far since he’s been here.  Bijan, Roschon, and Jonathan masked a lot of deficiencies in the run game while they were here, and now Texas doesn’t have a healthy RB of that caliber at the moment.  Just need more push in the run game.  He’s done a great job overall.

That may be true but it’s easy to forget how abysmal the OL play was just a few years ago.

Are you an OU fan? I’m not sure what this comment even means

I played golf for UT...doubt I'm OU anything.

Perhaps I misunderstood your post...if so, my apologies

IMO it has to do with OU likely cleaning house offensively this offseason.

Already started. Littrell is gone 😢. Was really hoping they’d give him another couple of years to get his system in place.

I do think OU is in danger of losing Fasusi. Not a guarantee, but it's on the table.

The REAL question is if he is on kelvin banks level to come in and start as a true freshman? since it seems he’s running from our depth.
