IIRC, he was a converted HS wide receiver but still runs with solid physicality. Also has long speed. Good hands, pretty good in blitz pick up. If his medical info passes the tests, hopefully we’re interested.

Texas simply does not have a gaping hole at WR.  Any take there is a luxury item, compared with DT, considering the top returnees and the freshmen recruits.

Which leads me to this question: we see that Savea is welcomed to play in the Champ games - would he be welcomed back out of the portal, as well?

I seem to remember him being pretty exciting. Wonder if we will be interested. Could be that big back that we’re currently missing on campus.

This would a good fit for Texas, plus Texas has seen play in games

I’m very curious why we are not on this list. The coaches know better than anyone what their needs and preferences are at DT, but this guy feels like a definite take and exactly what they’re looking for.

YEAH! How dare the coaches not be in contact right away with a portal player some random fan thinks is a take, Huh?

I've no idea who this guy even is or if he is a take, but compared to those teams listed, we have a playoff game in a few days that is of much more importance.

He has some decent size for the position, but what is his production like? How many snaps has he played?

These little cockroaches are starting to become obnoxious.

Tech big money guys are throwing money around this portal cycle. Don't think it matters for them though, because they'll still be a mid tier Big 12 team and McGuire still going to get fired.

PFF has him rated as a top-10 DT in the country this year, so definitely a take.

Thank you, I did some reading after this. Apparently he's not much of a pass rusher but he's a great run stopper/lane plugger. Teams had a hard time running the ball with him on the field. Was reading a post by someone who watched a ton of Washington State ball.

Have to agree, that you at least kick the tires on him.

he isn’t that good and is immobile.   should have stayed at duke

He probably wanted to stay at Duke.  Read the section of the article on the timing of him leaving.

"The 6-foot-5, 230-pound redshirt sophomore entered the transfer portal on Dec. 10 after Duke began recruiting Tulane transfer Darian Mensah, the No. 2 quarterback in ESPN's transfer rankings. Mensah committed to the Blue Devils on Dec. 11."

The portal door swings both ways.
