Also had an INT flat out dropped. Texas is going to need Quinn to make a big play for the team in red zone in the CFP if they are to make a NC run. I mean a late game, have to have it to stay alive type situation. My question to the board ... Can he or will he do it? I hope he does. I was thinking after the game, did Texas even run 1 play inside the Georgia 10 yard line. I don't think we did. To answer your question, no. Ewers has proven over multiple games this season that he can't make that play, just like he didn't make that play last year against Washington. It's time for Texas to do a Clemson/Alabama. TooBrokeToPayAttention21 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Gerry, I think we all hope Quinn can and will at some point over the next four games not be a detriment to this team when we are in the red zone. On one hand part of me feels like he's due to make it happen based on all the problems he's had. The other part of me says He is what he is and you have to live and die with his play. Let's hope rhythm Quinn shows up in the play in game and hopefully the next three games after that and balls out. HOOK 'EM 🤘 🤘 🤘 Quote

Joe Naural Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) U cant fix straight up one on one their DL stone cold knocking our OL back To offset what georgia dL does, u gotta have a running qb who can beat em deep Dart milroe haynes king no way their backup is better than Arch w his set of recievers…. No way! Smart got lucky w beck goin down and then knew he had to gamble the whole way! Sark figured he could win it w Ewers , he now knows , he has to use Arch or lose in red zone against georgia. Texasborn91 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Too many negative plays. Quinn did not make the plays to win his team the game. Have to take the opportunities you are given Quote

Assistant Regional Manager Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Sark has to have him on a joystick. I do not think we are operating with the full playbook but we are also way too deep into this year to make a change. It’s just hope at this point. There isn’t a dominant team in college football and Georgia is really the only team we match up extremely poorly against. 1 Quote
Joe Naural Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 I say use ewers til we play georgia again snd then turn lose Arch in red zone! nobodys got georgias talent w combined def scheme Quote
goattalk100 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 I also think Quinn sometimes does enough to make the plays but doesn’t get the help he needs from the receivers. Who are you confident in at this point of the season making a big catch in a contested situation (which is more frequent in the red zone). It’s Golden & then who else? For me, 1 on 1 coverage in the red zone is an easy back shoulder pass with the type of athletes we have on the outside. For whatever reason, we don’t seem to utilize those throws enough. 1 Quote

If the coverage gets tighter, mobility would be ideal. Quote

I think we honestly have to look at the run game or our lack there of in the red zone. Both games Georgia scored all their TD’s on the ground. I know folks will say what about Arch, yes different dimension but teams will scheme against. AM mobile QB, GTech Mobile QB, Bama mobile QB… how are those teams doing for the CFP? Quote
HornsUp Tom Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 This is hardly a new problem either. Last year I think we looked even worse in RZ. Early in the year looked like we had it fixed but it appears not 1 Quote
Hank Kingsley Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 The way Sark has curated this offense under QE, there almost has to be perfection for it to be successful. Timing is everything. Assignments/blocking has to be perfect. It's just very difficult to maintain that, particularly when facing elite talent and defenses. It really hurts the offense when on 3rd and 2, you know your QB is not gonna get the first with his legs if a pass play breaks down. 2 Quote
f1revo Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Uhhh no, he won't. He's not the guy Texas fans desperately want him to be. 1 Quote

The receivers routinely bail him out with insane catches and YAC. 1 Quote
4thandFive Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 CJ said it last night…Ewers isn’t the reason you win a game. He said “you can with with him, but not because of him”. I wish the young man well, but until Quinn shows us different- that’s who he is. Sark refusing to use Arch more in the RZ could be the end of the season. 2 1 Quote

Yup, he always says we should do XYZ after the fact but when it comes to it he never does. If Arch isn’t getting 10-20 snaps vs Clemson especially in the red zone that’s failure from Sark imo 2 Quote
harveycmd Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Looks like Texas may have knocked Georgia out of the playoff after all. Reports are Beck has an elbow ligament tear. 1 Quote
