I just grabbed tickets to the game on Saturday and noticed there are a lot of seats available for a pretty decent price. Some are upper-level seats, but a lot of visitor-side lower-level seats are available as well. I'm just throwing it up here so we show up and show out for the Horns. The NCAA is making this a "no" home game with the rules, and I don't want anyone thinking they are at a neutral site for this one.

Get online and grab some seats if you can go!!! See you there🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Texas state playoffs the same day. Several Austin and Dallas area teams involved. Largest number of season ticket holders live in Austin area, third is Dallas. Particularly Westlake and Highland Park.

Some folks that usually go to the Texas game won't be going to DKR since Vandegrift and Westlake are playing this Saturday in Arlington.

I get it. That’s why if you can go you should. 🤘🏼

Is there an official seller of tickets for the playoffs?  On the Paul Finebaum show today they said that DKR stadium was not sold out for this weekend. I just checked the UT website and they have no tickets available at all.  Do they only get so many tickets?  There are many available at Stubhub, SeatGeek, etc., but I assume they are resellers.

Seatgeek is the official partner

SeatGeek definitely had the slightly better prices.

Looking at SeatGeek, we’re not alone. The ND game seems in hot demand but ours, Ohio State, and Penn State have lots of tickets available for reasonable prices. You can go to the Penn State game for $150 lower level or $90 to get in.

Since SeatGeek is a ticket reseller, how do we know which of their tickets for these CFP games are resell for these events and which have never been sold?  There seems to be a lot of debate about whether the CFP games have sold out or not.

According to my quick googling Ticketmaster official ticket partner of the CFP

https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/Z7r9jZ1A7oJ_8

University of Texas official ticket partner for season ticket holders is Seatgeek.

It seems as though if you wanted face value tickets it went via your schools hierarchy of season ticket holders, which Texas sent out the emails in October. I have heard for students the process for playoff tickets was the same as any other home games.

I found this in an article on NBC-NY

Campus games

The FBS has finally caught up to the Championship Subdivision, which for decades has held campus playoff games in early winter in places that don't show up on travel destination brochures.

But will fans travel this weekend?

By the looks of booked travel packages, the answer is a resounding yes. Games at Ohio State versus Tennessee and at Notre Dame against Indiana are sellouts, while the stands are expected to be close to full at 106,000-seat Beaver Stadium for SMU at Penn State, as well as Clemson's matchup at Texas. Fans still seeking tickets are asked to look on the secondary online market.

Thanks for that info.  I still haven't figured out how you know a game is a sellout or not.  I do know that UT has no tickets available, but every reseller I checked has tickets.  In fact, for this game Ticketmaster has a small statement that it is not the primary seller of tickets for this game.

I would assume the university would announce whether a sellout or not. If the tickets that are on the secondary market are there that means they've been sold at least once! haha

I think a lot of the secondary market is people trying to make a quick buck on selling above face value.

I was also very surprised by how many tickets were available, no reason this shouldn’t be a packed house.

1) This game was put on the calendar a week ago. Very short turnaround time for people to make plans

2) It is 4 days before Christmas

3) Some fans have ticket buying fatigue. They went to the SEC title game and now have to buy another game + any additional games we play in the playoff?

4) Two Austin area HS teams playing in Arlington doesn’t help but I don’t think that matters too much considering how many people come in from Dallas and Houston for games.

I’m sure it will be a sellout or very close to it but there are some things working against Texas.

Dang that sucks. Need a good crowd on Sat.

If the first CFB playoff game at DKR shows a lot of empty seats on TV our Aggy friends (?!) will have something to talk about.
