Moderators CJ Vogel Posted December 27, 2024 Moderators Share Posted December 27, 2024 Wake Forest head coach Jake Dickert has nabbed Texas special assistant Scottie Hazelton off of the Texas coaching staff and named him the Demon Deacons new defensive coordinator. The move was rumored last week and made official earlier Friday morning. Hazelton had previously been a defensive coordinator at Kansas State and Michigan State before joining Steve Sarkisian's staff for the 2024 campaign. Best of luck to Coach Hazelton next fall.

Moderators CJ Vogel Posted December 27, 2024 Author Moderators Share Posted December 27, 2024 Hazelton was hired by Texas in late July. During fall camp, he was often seen working with the STARs (nickels) on the defensive side of the ball for Texas.
Tuco Ramirez
Not a surprise at all. I’m happy for him and appreciate everything he did for Texas this season. Best of luck! 3
Hashtag
Is he expected to stay through playoffs, work at both locations, or immediately head there?

ETXHorn
Looks like Sark has taken over the Saban Re-ignition program for coaches to help further their careers after working in a quality program.

Already headed to WF. Wish he would have as well, but being a DC with the portal , and other responsibilities it makes sense. Wish him the best !
GoHorns1
Texas will probably let one defensive GA that help Hazleton handle the nickel.
bourbasted
Sark has been brilliant at bringing in special assistants to help us continue to improve. Wish Coach Scottie the best at WF.
