Tale of Two Halves for Isaiah Bond

Quite the frustrating second half of the season for Isaiah Bond.

After the ankle injury against Oklahoma, he was never the same impactful player for the Longhorns and it was a large reason why there was so many stagnant moments in my eyes.

The first five games were what Texas signed up for.

I don’t know what the draft grade is for Bond, but it sure isn’t in the first round or probably close to where he wants it to be after the last seven games.

Yeah he can kick rocks for all I care… Wingo, Moore, and Bolden are plenty with the young guys supplementing.

This is an absolutely horrid take. A healthy Bond is among the most feared, explosive players in the country. We should do whatever it takes to retain him. Also, Bolden is out of eligibility, so your solution isn’t much of a solution.

From what I'm reading elsewhere Bond won't be back. Not Johntay Cook level issues , but something is amiss. Just leave it there for now. Our hit rate for ex Bama players isn't very good at all tbh😂🤘

The covid year he has means he can’t come back?

The parting will be very mutual.

I mean I’m pretty sure you’re wrong lol. His COVID year was 2020 then played 4 years. https://www.on3.com/news/former-oregon-state-wr-silas-bolden-commits-to-texas/

but keep making yourself look like a fool

How many games did he play in the 2021 season? Pretty positive Bobby and Gerry both said he has an extra season mid year also if you want extra reference

Bond’s on-field execution the 2nd half of the season was horrific.  Drops, caused INTs, missed blocks, penalties, bad routes, etc.  Texas was playing with somewhere between 9 and 10 players on offense when he was on the field.  10 when he’s a decoy and 9 when he’s contributing negative plays.

I don’t know for certain, but it sure seems like he mentally checked out at some point.  Disappointing for him and the team.  Also has to cause serious pause for the NFL.

He will run really well & he can point to the injury as the reason for his decline in production and play. Don’t think he will get drafted outside the top 3 rounds. Honestly, wish him the best & he was great for us when healthy. If he ever did want to come back for a prove it year, I would welcome him back.

Sure it's a variation of the WR diva deal. It seemed pretty obvious in the A&M and SEC title game that he was either lacking effort or concentration, which wouldn't be the result of a gimpy ankle. His ankle was rolled again in the SEC title game. The last game he looked good was Florida, and he looked really good then.
