First game I've watched all year. I picked a good day to start!

Nice win.

We have played three ranked teams in conference home games.  We lost to two top 5 teams in games that were within one possession with less than 2 minutes to go.  We just beat a top 25 team by 8 points.  And didn't have Weaver in any of it.

Burying this team is dumb.  Thinking they can be world beaters is wishful thinking, but let them have their wins, recognize their chances to make the tournament, and understand they have never played at full strength this year.

Now let's go out and trash the Agroids Saturday.

Good win.  Would really like them to finish at one game over 500 in conference, but they’ll have to improve significantly to get to that level.

If you told me before the game that Tre, Mark and Pope were going to play like this? I would have said it’s a blowout then. Role players were huge!

More like we beat them on the boards and played mostly turnover free over the last 15 minutes.   We had 14 offensive rebounds tonight.  That was huge in this win.

You should have quoted my earlier post about Shedrick and Kent stepping up big tonight for that.

Who are you talking about here?  Shedrick only showed us rebounding and free throw shooting which were things he was pretty good at while at UVA.   He fought like hell for some loose balls, so that was a big contribution.  Or are you talking about Larry being better than he was Saturday?  Kent had a better game today but was still a no-show on the boards. 

This was a team defense win all the way.  We held Missouri to 53 points.  It scored 83 in each of its last two games.

Was with my twin granddaughters last night so I missed the game.  I enjoyed reading through this thread.  Thanks, of course, to Jordan and Bierce and BobInHouston, but also to some posters I have not seen here before who called plays made and missed, rather than flood the site with gratuitous insults.

I hope Weaver is back, soon.  I probably will get to watch the Aggie game.

Weaver shouldn't play much which he returns. There are too many guards already, and Terry is awful at rotations. Pope, Larry, Johnson, and Mark are all much better players than Weaver and their PT shouldn't be adjusted to make time for him.

That he actually rebounded and scored. He had a huge score inside late in game. The timing of the play was in a critical moment. Shed is an afterthought at that time. Larry played well. Kent had a nice cut to the basket and hit two jump shots. Scoring was really hard to do in this game. The bench and Shedrick showed up at critical moments.

Much needed win last night. loved every second of it. dont care if its 50-48 or 90-88. I'll enjoy watching a top 25 win either way

No, but their PT should be adjusted when they are playing some kind of totally sucktastic ball like Pope did last night, particularly early in the second half when he dribbled 20 seconds on our first possession before even attempting to get past the top of the arc, or when he dribbled away 24 seconds on another possession before passing, or when he drove into a defender, was stripped, and committed the f1 foul.  Or like when Larry did what Larry was doing in the second half against Florida. 

Or when we need Weaver to fight on the glass because we are getting creamed on the offensive boards because no one except Kaluma on the front line is getting rebounds.  Weaver is a valuable guy.  He might be behind the other 4 guards in the rotation, but he brings a dimension the others do not.  Including the occasional flight to the roof of the gym for a rebound or dunk that gets an otherwise tepid crowd back into the game.

Ok, but I always tried to give Shedrick credit for rebounding at least somewhat, even if he doesn't get enough, and he improved that last night.  He was still the turnover prone guy who couldn't pass out of the post last night, but at least he converted most of his touches to points via drawing fouls and making the ft. 

We're shooting 81% from the line in conference, btw.

My biggest issue with Shed/Onyema is their usage, not them. I have no problem with them as players, or even their skill sets. I have issues with the way they are applied. We run rip screens to get 1v1 matchups for these dudes with their backs to the basket, yet they are not back to the basket players from what I have seen (or what their career numbers say). We have a team full of ISO ballhandlers and scorers, why are we eating up space on the block and throwing it to someone who is incapable of averaging 1.0 PPP on their 1v1 postups? It makes zero sense and is such an antiquated look at the game.

Much needed win. 

Shedrick seems like a great kid and plays hard. He did indeed have a few big plays down the stretch. His physical limitations drive me nuts tho. He has very little lower body strength and a weak center of gravity. Constantly off balance from minimal contact.

His falls to the floor would make a great drinking game.
