Moderators CJ Vogel Posted Friday at 10:18 PM Moderators Share Posted Friday at 10:18 PM Texas EDGE rusher Barryn Sorrell was named the top DL on the American Team at the Senior Bowl as voted by the offensive linemen. Sorrell was the lone Longhorn in attendance at the Senior Bowl this weekend and he certainly helped raise his stock after the week of practices. I spoke briefly with Sorrell about why he decided to attend the Senior Bowl when the rest of his teammates opted out to prepare for the NFL Draft, "I have to worry about me." Quite the achievement for Sorrell who was in a loaded defensive line group which included Princely Umanmielen, Kyle Kennard, Jared Ivey and Shemar Turner. 31 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But we clearly were very close to winning a national title. Having a game breaker like Nolen at DT would have made our defense the unquestioned best in the country and possibly been the difference for us. I’m fairly confident we would have won the SEC title game with one star DT like him. We had game breakers everywhere on defense except DT this year. Our DTs were commendable and serviceable, but not game breakers. It’s like whack-a-mole- last year, pretty much the only place we had game breakers on defense was at DT.
