Moderators Blake Munroe Posted February 15 Moderators Posted February 15 Baseball is a cruel, cruel sport. Just when you think it’s a done deal, the baseball gods snatch it away and spit in your face. A tale as old as time. Side note: I watched my hometown girls basketball team (#15 in state) lose tonight to No. 1 in the state in a second round playoff game. Then came home and watched Texas lose like that. Been a great evening. Heres to a better tomorrow! 3 2 Quote

They need to remember who built that program and enjoy it this year, because the future is not as bright. There’s a reason their ass is getting handed to them on the recruiting trail. Good luck with that. 10 Quote
ScottyB Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Lots of retooling needed. Schloss will have his work cut out for him this season. But we all knew that. That said it’s game 1. And it’s baseball. S—t happens. Good news is we get to play again tomorrow. LET’S GO! 3 Quote
Moderators Blake Munroe Posted February 15 Moderators Posted February 15 With tonight’s loss, Schloss joins Gus, Augie and Pierce as the only other Texas coaches in the history of the university to lose their season opener. Everyone will point out DP there, but not bad company to be in. 3 Quote
goattalk100 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Gotta think first game nerves got in our guys heads. Especially with a new coaching regime, players want to come out & impress. I have a feeling Schloss will calm them down & they’ll play a lot better tomorrow. 1 Quote
alrightalrightalright Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Alright, doesn’t feel better in the morning but it’s a new day. Let’s get our first win Quote

Did get the first win playing football, and we will not discuss my first track meet. 1 Quote
Assistant Regional Manager Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Guys, we have a closer. It’s Ruger Riojas and he’s good. He just ran out of gas last night trying to go 3 innings and it’s game 1 so they aren’t going to ask him to be a hero. Spencer and Riojas looking that good against a solid opponent bodes very well for the rest of the year. 1 Quote
cmk4pres Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Spencer looked great. Rojas was just left in too long period. got to make more contact. Way too many Ks 2 Quote

Way too many Ks You nailed it on the ABs. I lost count but Texas struck out at least 15 times. That won’t cut it. Spencer and Rojas had a shut out going late in the game. Enough said on that. This loss is not of that magnitude and different sports, but gotta give the man time. Edited February 15 by qaertyisthatdude Quote

Look for him to have an Evan Aschenbeck (A&M last year) role. Quote

Riojas may not be the typical 1-inning closer but if he is available to get the last 6-9 outs he will be out there a lot. Edited February 15 by Assistant Regional Manager Quote
