qaertyisthatdude Posted Friday at 01:49 PM Posted Friday at 01:49 PM Wagon fans be like - I'm getting Baker Mayfield vibes! John Mateer gonna go 16-0, beat Texas by 7 TDs, win the SEC, win the Heisman, and bring #8 back to where it belongs - the Palace on the Prairie! Plus, we have Jim Nagy over there on the sidelines already scouting players! Party like it's 2000, baby! 1 2 Quote

As the Old School coaches would say, "Son, act like you have done it before and you ain't surprised you just did it again!" One of the things I liked about Quinn. He played it cool like he expected to do it every time. Quinn conserved his energy and didn't waste it running and jumping down the field. Hook 'Em! Quote

thatdude2 Posted Friday at 02:12 PM Posted Friday at 02:12 PM I hate OU. I met Andrew Marsh on Wednesday and I told him I needed them to beat OU. I wouldn’t mind seeing Auburn and Jackson Arnold curb stump OU at OU. They literally hired a 29 year old Arbuckle as OC (brought in his QB coach), but preceded to keep every one of their offensive coaches from last season. If Arbuckle is truly running his offense, he has to teach the other coaches and the players? Smells like a train wreck to me, but who knows maybe Mateer is QB1 in the NFL draft next year. Quote
ArizonaLonghorn Posted Friday at 02:14 PM Posted Friday at 02:14 PM (edited) Lot of big dudes. New QB looks All-World. Should we be getting worried? Next thing you know they'll be flashing Horns Down again! Edited Friday at 02:15 PM by ArizonaLonghorn Quote

I still can't believe that Jim Nagy left the Senior Bowl to become the GM of Sooner football. Venables will more than likely be fired within 2 years and then Nagy may have to start over somewhere else. Quote

I thought Arch was more demonstrative than I was expecting. I think a part of Arch's celebrating was his age-- some of the younger players are celebrating more as each new generation of recruits sees playing time. Another part was Arch enjoying coming off the bench to get some PT or being happy to play well when filling in for Quinn. Finally, Arch celebrated coming off the field and in front of the Texas sideline. Unlike what we saw in the clip from the OU spring practice where the former Washington State QB chased his WR to the end zone imitating the Land Thief wagon and ponies all the way. You have a point. I admit to being an old guy who remembers my late father father fussing about Billy "White Shoes" Johnson's end zone celebrations for the Oilers. Thanks! Quote

I think they are going to be sneaky good. Their DL is going to be one of the best in the SEC, which I think our new OL could have serious problems against. Im not sure they are going to put up many points against us, but they should be improved on offense. I would pick us to win today, but I could easily see them going 8-4 or 9-3. Their schedule next year isn’t as hard as it looks on paper. Edited Friday at 04:29 PM by Bunk Moreland Quote

They won’t win a close game against OU. Edited Friday at 05:35 PM by qaertyisthatdude Quote
HookemTexas Posted Friday at 06:04 PM Posted Friday at 06:04 PM OU should be better than they were this year, but if Texas is supposed to be competing for a national championship, they should win this game comfortably. Being a rivalry game it should be closer for about the first half and then pull away in the second half. Quote

If you beat three of Ohio State, Florida, OU, and Georgia, the worst case scenario is a repeat of the last two seasons. Flaming out in the Final Four. Quote

I disagree, Arch is a new starter, but he's essentially a redshirt sophomore in year 3 of the system. He'll make some mistakes, but he should be able to play at a fairly high level as well. The rest of the team is fairly reloaded (less experience on the o-line for sure) so Texas should be able to compete. 1 Quote
