Glad I was wrong.  My bracket is thankful too.  To this day, I cannot believe Indiana fumbled Kelvin Sampson.  Hell of a coach

Sampson was a perennial cheater.  Don't conflate the current landscape with the clear rules that were in place 20 years ago. Indiana didn't have a choice.

I stopped watching after Houston didn't seem to get any momentum after halftime. Where did clutch city come from?!

3 things that stood out to these Texas eyes:

1) teams that stagnate on offense for more than 3 minutes doom themselves. I didn't see that coming from Duke.

2) the corollary to 1, any top team can make a 9-0 run in 60-90 seconds. No lead is safe, no deficit is too big.  Duke and Auburn hit 7 threes each today. Florida hit 8, Houston hit 10.

3) Kelvin stole a page out of Coach Ks book managing the final few minutes. And he built a team with defense to cause #1 without neglecting the offense for #2. But I'm not sold on him or the Cougs until they get the ultimate prize.

Lastly despite appreciating the Barnes and Beard/Terry era defenses, I hope Miller unleashes a top 10 offense. Anything less and we just aren't serious.

Man… I thought Houston was toast. It reminded me of the Lady Horns against South Carolina. But… instead of sitting down on the bench and looking miserable, Sampson stayed on his kids, encouraging them, coaching them up until the end… and the end was mind blowing.

duke played h tougher than i thought.  i think they will beat fl.  we knew they had the most and best pro prospects but i wondered about their ruggedness against the sampsons of the world.

I'll take Florida. Backcourt experience with Clayton will be the difference.

I will take Houston just because I want Texas teams holding court in Texas and I want Sampson to win one finally.Much better to do so with Houston than Oklahoma… I hated him then.

I didn't get to watch it but checked once on my phone and it was toward the end when they were down by 14.  I was shocked when I saw sports late last night.  Go Coogs.

How can you not love Sampson?  He loves the kids and they love him back.  He is due.

Be an Indiana fan.

LOL, like Indiana has not been cheating at recruiting forever.

That is like holding a grudge against Lance Armstrong.

I am thinking h and fl are an even match up.  But I think h will win.  I wouldn't bet either side without several points given because something like who gets hot from out is unpredictable.  Nobody is likely to give me the points to make my day because the teams are really evenly matched.
