Texas Longhorns are playing tremendous baseball and Coach Schlossnagle deserves a ton of credit for the faster than expected turnaround.  Not only has it been fun to watch A&M struggle this season under Michael Early….. Looking back, it seems that Coach Schloss hiring Troy Tulowitzki as the Horns hitting coach has turned out to be a great thing for Texas.  The other side story referenced above re: the Aggies hiring Michael Early in a move of desparation to stop last season's roster from a mass exodus, interesting to see the stats from D1 Baseball that no team has ever dropped from #1 to Unranked in the month of March like the Aggies in 2025.  https://www.si.com/college/tamu/baseball/deep-dive-inside-texas-am-aggies-baseball-historic-downfall-2025-season

Comparing the Horns and Aggies offensive production this year:
Horns:   BA  .306   SLG .544  OBP .403  HR  42   R  190
Aggies:  BA  .260   SLG .435  OBP .370  HR  31    R  162

From everything I've read, it sounds like Troy is extremely popular with all the players on the team, dating back to when he worked as an unpaid volunteer assistant hitting / infield coach for several seasons previously, following his impressive career in the majors.  Would be great to get perspective from @CJ Vogel @Jeff Howe or @Blake Munroe if you have much insight about Troy Tulowitzki's approach to coaching and developing our hitters and how he's had an impact overall on the Texas Longhorns baseball team, bringing all his experience from the majors.  If there are other members in the OTF family who know Coach Tulowitzki, please add to the discussion.  Seems like a great story and Troy appears to be a coach we want to be with the Longhorns for a very long time if possible.    Thanks and Hook em!! 🤘🏼🐂 🧡

Good write up. It’s pretty incredible to see the turnaround from both programs from last year to this year. It’s a good sign of things to come for the future of Texas baseball under Schloss

Agree.   Awesome to see both teams’ trajectories change so quickly.   CDC has Horns athletics at all-time high performance across all sports while Trev Albert’s’ arrogant low trust cost cutting approach has A&M heading in wrong direction overall with poor initial hires, especially baseball.

Gonna be fun and interesting to see how far the Horns can go this season.   Coaching and recruiting absolutely make all the difference.   Just look at A&M implosion over the past month.   There’s no lack of talent in college station.

Okay but I'm still glad we will forever have this picture engrained in Texas/Texas A&M lore.

Awesome @Hashtag. 😂🤣  Love it!

Will say it again.  Coach Schloss definitely hit a HOMERUN when he hired Troy Tulowitzki to return as our hitting coach.
