Defense was god awful, and don’t even get me started on Flores and gas with 2 on bases 0 outs and absolutely choked that s*** away. Deserved to lose with that pitiful performance. May have been top 3 worst baseball defensive performance I’ve ever seen. Jonah's last two ABs were absolutely pathetic Quote

f1revo Posted yesterday at 04:58 AM Posted yesterday at 04:58 AM Glad we burned all our best arms when we can't even field a ground ball. Super cool. We are toast. I expecting to get bounced in the Supers, not this damn early. Hopefully we recruit some kids with some better fundamentals. Base running was a complete joke like they never have done it before yesterday and now this disasterclass defensive performance. On top of lacking enough competitive at bats to be a real contender. ElCafetero Posted yesterday at 04:59 AM Posted yesterday at 04:59 AM these are both of my teams so I’m happy and sad at the same time 😭 Quote
Randy Fistfighter Posted yesterday at 05:00 AM Posted yesterday at 05:00 AM I wonder what would happen if we actually swung the damn bat? 1 Quote
Steindam Hall Posted yesterday at 05:01 AM Posted yesterday at 05:01 AM Key stats… UTSA strands three runners. Texas, 14. With runners in scoring position: UTSA: 6 of 10 (.600), Texas: 3-18 (.167). Fielding errors: Texas: 2, UTSA: 0. 1 Quote
HardcoreHorn Posted yesterday at 05:02 AM Posted yesterday at 05:02 AM Get to a game 7 and who knows what happens. (I’m being way too overly optimistic) Quote
Hi im Boo Corrigan Posted yesterday at 05:03 AM Posted yesterday at 05:03 AM You can’t roll Gasparino out there tomorrow. He looks so lost at the plate. Play Farmer Quote
horns96 Posted yesterday at 05:12 AM Posted yesterday at 05:12 AM (edited) @Jeff Howe when is the last time Texas has lost a regional in Austin? I honestly don't remember. I can remember losing Supers to TCU and UC Irvine, but don't recall losing a Regional. I guess the last time I remember coming out of the "losers" bracket to win a regional was around 2002, when UH had that first round MLB ace (Brad Sullivan)? HardcoreHorn Posted yesterday at 05:15 AM Posted yesterday at 05:15 AM Pretty new to college baseball… how rare is it for a team in Texas current position to wind up advancing? Quote

They had to play that one at Dell Diamond because Disch-Falk was under construction. 1 Quote

I think the number is 83% of the time, the team that starts 2-0 wins the regional. Quote

bourbasted Posted yesterday at 05:31 AM Posted yesterday at 05:31 AM 6 minutes ago, horns96 said: For all my bitching and whining, my money is still on Texas🤘 This. There's a lot of pride on this team. They've gotten it done pretty much all year, they just have to get the bats off their shoulders. They are getting the setups, just not converting. That said, 7 runs should be enough to beat any team. 1 Quote
CoachBobbyFinstock Posted yesterday at 05:39 AM Posted yesterday at 05:39 AM This team couldn’t make routine plays on ground balls, strikes out way too much and couldn’t lay down a bunt in a situational moment. I wouldn’t bet on anything. We haven’t played well since the Aggy series. UTSA was also the more hungry team. Very disappointing effort. 1 Quote

I do not like this decision , If we can’t pitch Bing or walker or someone else not named ruger/grubbs. We should pack it up. You play to win the regional not for placement.
