Hornito Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Have to play a clean game. Pretty ugly game for Texas. Hopefully the bats are timed up with their pitcher at this point and we can score first tomorrow 1 Quote

Just to take 2 strikes looking when you know the ump gives her an expanded zone. The errors hurt, but White's coaching cost us that game. 6 Quote

Bevo92 Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago Impressive for Canaday to pitch back to back complete games and get the win tonight. Hats off. Hopefully Kavan brings her best stuff tomorrow night and Canaday should show some fatigue. We hit her much better tonight. That said….I was thinking about the ‘pending’ final ruling on settlement of House -v- NCAA case after tonight’s game. I believe it would prevent the Sellers from ‘pay for play’ of $1m to Canaday next year, correct? How quickly will she or other players challenge the legality of the ruling as she clearly has proven she’s worth every penny and Texas Tech has easily benefitted by more than $1m from this transaction. horns96 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago 6 errors in two games. We're lucky to have an opportunity for a third game. 3 Quote

Self inflicted loss tonight. 1 1 Quote
dentonhorn Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago We know there is less stress pitching softball but is there a fatigue level? I am assuming Canady pitched 3 games in a row quite often this season but not sure . Thinking that the advantage for us is we have talented hitters who have seen her in many at bats now. Hoping Kavan spins a shutout tomorrow . Won’t see the game going to my HS reunion. 55th my friends. Quote

No it wouldn’t. Everything is grandfathered. And this season proves that canadys “fair market value” is worth it. Don’t even go there from that standpoint. Quote

However, they didn’t give any context as to how those outings went for her. I’d be curious to know that and how many of those came against the same team for all three games vs a regional or tourney set up. 1 Quote

A quick scroll through her stats and it’s definitely not uncommon for her to pitch in three games in three days. However, she’s never gone the distance three straight games. Max innings pitched in a three day stretch this year is 17, so she’d be in new territory from an innings standpoint from the 4th inning on tonight. Tech is 4-2 in those “third games” though two of the four wins came against Kennesaw State and a mediocre BYU. OK State and Arizona State both hit well off her the third time around. Will be interesting tonight for sure. 5 Quote
Bevo92 Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Flashing back 2 weeks to the Clemson late night extra innings nail biter game 2 when Clemson had runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the 8th inning with no outs, game tied 5-5. 80% probability in that moment at least one run scores for Clemson, our season ends right then…. but Kavan and the defense were f’ing clutch with a strikeout and 2 great defensive plays for the last 2 outs, inning over with no runs. Horns won it in the 10th after holding Clemson scoreless in final 2 innings. Texas went on to battle game 3 and win the series. That super regional series showed a ton of character and fight in Texas. Same thing in game 1 against Tech in the first inning with bases loaded and no outs. Tech should have been able to generate at least a run or two in that inning. Instead, Kavan and the Horms got Canaday to hit into double play plus the third out, no damage and the Horns went on to win the greatest game I can recall in awesome fashion on Atwoods clutch 2RBI single in the 9th. Bottom line, our Lady Longhorns have major grit and in this game 3 against Texas Tech tonight for the chance to win their first ever WCWS, I’m excited to see that Longhorn grit in full force. Minimize the errors and self inflicted mistakes. Kavan should pitch well with the day’s rest and the Horns should be ready to hit on Cannaday tonight (note, that’s f’ing impressive that Canaday is carrying the full load 3 straight straight days from the mound). My prediction on final score: Texas wins 6-5 in extra innings on a solo HR by Mia Scott. Texas wins their first ever WCWS. Hook em! 🧡🐂🤘🏼 Edited 10 hours ago by Bevo92 2 Quote
