Oldest Horn Posted Saturday at 11:36 AM Posted Saturday at 11:36 AM I’d say in this case it worked well. She was the featured player of this tournament. Quote
HookemTexas Posted Saturday at 11:58 AM Posted Saturday at 11:58 AM I’d definitely say it worked for them, national exposure, made it to the championship and had a chance to win it all, love fest for the Cinderella story. Without Canady they don’t even make a regional. Quote

It was donor money. Texas came out strong, so proud of the Longhorns. Can’t wait until next year.”HOOKEM “ 1 Quote

Bevo92 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago No way Tech gets anywhere near as far this season without riding Canaday. Brilliant move imho. Equally brilliant to I’ll deal on Friday with Canaday for next season, meaning the deal cannot be reviewed or revoked by Deloitte/. They get another shot to go for it in 2026. Quote

Canady is definitely worthy of every penny paid to her by Tech. 2 million over 2 years is far more valuable to Tech's softball program than spending 10-20 million on a stadium or facilities for the sport. This is Texas Tech without Canady NCAA Tournament appearances 1999, 2001, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2019, This is Texas Tech with Canady Quote
