817 Boxing B Posted June 12 Posted June 12 So... somebody pondered why an old blueblood like Nebraska isn't more aggressive when it comes to player acquisition and NIL...? I'm just curious to see what you guys think? 2 Quote
Hookem72 Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Well they tried to be and successfully landed Dylan Railoa and were very active in trying to get Michael Terry III. I think if Nebraska had been more successful last year with Rhule they would have been able to sustain that momentum. 1 Quote

Bobby Burton Posted June 12 Posted June 12 The Big 10 desperately needs more of its schools to step up, Nebraska included. 5 Quote

They are also a victim of demographics too. 1 Quote

They caught lightning in a bottle when they had Dr Tom Osborne as their longtime HC. And Bob Devanney before Osborne. Under those two NU was a juggernaut for decades. It's another example of a university having the right guy in place... and then comes a succession of wrong HCs and all the warts underneath the surface that were hidden pop up again and the whole program grinds to a halt. We've seen it in Austin before. Here's hoping Coach Sark can keep Texas rolling for a long time... Hook 'Em! Quote
BobInHouston Posted June 14 Posted June 14 All of the raw talent they used to get from all over... California, New Jersey, South Carolina... those guys are being scooped up closer to home. There isn't enough talent in Omaha to make up for that. 1 Quote

I totally forgot about that... and the way they tried like heck to keep Lawrence Phillips eligible. Oh, well. I lived in Wyoming for a few years near the Colorado border and until moving there I didn't realize how much CU despises NU. Quote
