Brho Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago 3 minutes ago, TTown said: Laugh all you want this is a definite possibility period Paying millions of dollars to a kid that has no chance to play anytime soon is a waste of money. He just got whipped at that 5 star camp. When he’s ready to play McGuire won’t even be the coach at tech still. Quote
Class of 04 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago As big of a headache as his recruitment has been, I'm not sure I would want to throw big dollars at someone who is this flaky. It's clear the people in his camp value the big NIL $$ more than his development. He may go to Lubbock as a 5* but I can almost guarantee he won't leave there as one, ask Micah Hudson what Lubbock does with 5* recruits... Quote
Thanos72 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Maybe his performance was an eye opener for him and his family so they are taking the sure thing? Quote

He gone🤣🤣🤷 We are starting to see more of it. There have been several in this cycle that have done that. Just me, but if I was a prospect and wanted to have my announcement I would do the same or not tell the teams until 15-20 mins prior. The news always trickles out from the ones that don’t get the player 95% of the time. Now, I would take the time to call the remaining staffs from the final few after the announcement and say thank you and whatever else a player wants to … in case things change. It’s not a popular opinion , but I don’t have a problem with someone trying to keep the lid on their news as much as possible. Quote

One of my favorite recruiting stories from last year is that DK Moore asked Texas for tickets to the Georgia game in Austin. Texas told him no. You can guess why. Quote
Rayzorswagg Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Felix Ojo is ranked right under Jackson Cantwell in the composite rankings who received an NIL package of 2-2.5 mil a year from Miami. His agent will do everything they can to get him in that ballpark range. With that being said, Ojo is a developmental player and would not start year 1 at Texas or any other serious playoff contender. That would be a lot of money sitting on the bench. Ojo has loved the recruiting process and hopefully Sark/Flood already saw this coming…… Quote

There will always be someone that feels that way, and I can tell you I don't give a rip. Coaches leave jobs for another, and many times it breaks on social media before the players are told. And it happens that way because the coach doesn't want the news to leak out early. Quote
Thanos72 Posted 55 minutes ago Posted 55 minutes ago (edited) This is so fatiguing. We’re 10 minutes into a new era and I’ve already read a lifetime of fretting, complaining, and doomsdaying. Same thing happened with nil. Other teams jumped “ahead” and started getting kids. Folks complained we’ll never compete because we’re mostly above board. What did Texas do? Waited, researched, learned, and then put together an elite nil approach that served us very well. Thank goodness we have smart, measured, patient, and purposeful leaders to navigate this landscape as well. And oh, the goal is to whip everyone in every sport so miss me with the sky is falling. Texas, if leadership so chooses, will always be top 3-5 because they have every lever at their disposal to pull while doing it right. It’s not patience. It’s intentional prudence. 🤘🏽 Edited 55 minutes ago by Thanos72 Quote
Sundancekid Posted 39 minutes ago Posted 39 minutes ago Smart roster management is the key. If players want to go live on a desert island with their bag(s)… so be it. Quote
