DanielOnorato Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago What is your Mount Rushmore for Texas College Basketball? As a Celtic fan I'm cancelling out Joe Z saying Payton Pritchard with Avery Bradley. Longhorn Nation, who are your top picks in hoops? TJ Ford and Kevin Durant should be shoe ins... 1 1 Quote
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted 6 hours ago Moderators Posted 6 hours ago Is it purely at Texas? Or NBA career factors in? KD TJ The obvious … Wooden & Naismith Awards winners DJ Augustin and LaMarcus Aldridge in my years. LaSalle Thompson is likely a pick for some Texas fans … Johnnie Moore could be too You have guys that are better NBA players that college players - Myles Turner, Jarrett Allen PJ Tucker will always be underrated as a college player at Texas 4 1 Quote
SpaceCityWrangler Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago NBA Bird and Magic… literally changed the game. Jordan was an amplifier to that change. Abdul-Jabbar for longevity, social activism. In short, he was a cultural icon. People forget how dominant he was… 6 MVP’s… all-time scorer. Quote
SpaceCityWrangler Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago For Texas Kevin Durant TJ Ford Terrence Rencher Slater Martin 2 Quote
Sundancekid Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Travis Mays should be in there somewhere with KD, TJ, LA and PJ. 1 Quote
Sundancekid Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Johnny Moore, Jim Krivacs, Lasalle Thompson, Lance Blanks and Miles Turner are 2nd Team. Tristan Thompson, DJ Augustine, Terrence Rencher, James Thomas and BJ Tyler round out third team. 1 Quote

I'd say at Texas but a pro Mt Rushmore is very interesting also. Tre Johnson professionally will far surpass the college legacy he left. DJ Augustin is severely underrated. Cory Joseph - Chris Mihm - Tristan Thompson many first round picks in the past who provided much less value to winning than PJ Tucker. Quote

It’s Jordan, even if all of them played for Texas. 1 Quote

He had a shootout with spurs prospect Derrick Dial. Pretty cool but Red Auerbach sat two rows in front of me during that game. 1 Quote
Jordan91 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Okay I am assuming we are talking four. KD, TJ (Back to back players of the year), DJ and LA. Apologies to PJ, LaSalle, Mays, Mihm, and Turner I am amazed Turner is still not pissed at Barnes for only playing 16 minutes in his last game. 1 Quote
Migas & Fajitas Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Isn’t Slater Martin in the nba HOF? Did UT make the final four during his time at UT? Seems like Martin and KD should be leading the way followed by TJ and LaSalle. 1 Quote
Sundancekid Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Travis Mays would have had a very good NBA career if not for the injuries. He may be my favorite ever because he came from Florida to a sorry team and brought it up from the ashes to create the most exciting version of Texas basketball ever with Blanks, Wright, Collie, Myers and the rest. 2 Quote

It is the basketball hall of fame so it encompasses college, pro, international etc contributions to the game. 1 Quote

Sundancekid Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Penders will always have a place in my heart after trying to support Kaiser Bob era for too many games… rough. From Abe Lemons to Weltlich(sp?) was a horrible move. Our entire roster jumped ship after being in the top 5 when Mike Wacker’s knee exploded. 6 and 7 win seaaons… BAD. I forgot about Mike Wacker! … and George Mueller… Seriously though… Mike Wacker was a stud before his knee injury and that team was as good as any we have had when they were in full health. When Wacker went down we had the worst collapse of any team I can think of … Texas or otherwise. Wacker deserves serious consideration. He was also about the only player who stayed though he played on essentially one leg forevermore. 1 Quote

Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted 1 hour ago Moderators Posted 1 hour ago In terms of at Texas … I really believe DJ Augustin will always be undervalued Led Texas to E8 winning Bob Cousy Award, first team All-American … lottery pick Stellar two year college career IMO 2 1 Quote
Sundancekid Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago DJ was damn good… no doubt. Got a paycheck for many years. Quote
