I think Aug 1st a a big deadline and after that we will know what is more accepted and whats rejected. Is it just wording or organizational changes in the document to pass or is it just flat out not "NIL.” Then we will have the court challenges and that will take a while. Its clear, so of the recruiting battles we have lost when (if all things equal, Texas wins) the other team has not done a truly acceptable deal. Lets see what happens bc in the past, its not even a slap on the wrist. Cam Newton recorded phone call is the best example.

Are are the “deals” being submitted for current players on campus, or recruits who recently committed?

(Guessing the “deal” are for current players on the rosters and campus not recruits)

Makes one wonder how brazen some schools are being with schemes to launder money into buying recruits? I didn't hate Notre Dame's method where they set up a nonprofit that paid their players in exchange for charity work (appearances), at least gives that "something good is coming out of this" feeling.

Edit:

Oh duh, we do that too?! That's a "loophole" that seems to be being cracked down on now

I think Texas is being wise in letting other schools come in and blow their wads. I saw an interview with Sonny Dykes discussing NIL when it works and when it doesn’t. He mentioned how bad it is for the team to have a freshman come in who hasn’t done a thing making more already than your senior captains.  We need some good old fashioned salaries across the board. NIL is on the side and your own damn business.

Lawyers lining to sue Deloitte and the CSC. Going to be interesting what the Coutrs rule. Buckle up gang it’s going to wild!

What is going to be interesting is to see if said players with invalid NIL deals will be withheld from playing to avoid further team penalties.

@Bobby Burton posted the guidelines for this after a Saturday Conversation. Hopefully he will repost.

Legal action is coming soon. We're in good shape either way. If there's an injunction against the clearing house, then it's open season and we're right back to the last several years. If the initial ruling is House stands, you'll see numerous decommits and it's open season.

I would like to add that the potential for congressional legislation doesn't change anything absent agreement from the players' side. The Supreme Court already voted 9-0 that limiting compensation to players is unconstitutional. Differently stated, if Congress attempts to codify the House Settlement, the Supreme Court will almost certainly strike it down unless there is agreement from the players, which ain't happening.

Especially if that freshman comes in thinking their shite doesn't stink, I'm sure that will go over real well with team.
