Raistlin Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I was listening to Rod B’s podcast this morning and came away optimistic that our redzone problems are fixed for 2025. Each of the problems Rod identified from the last couple of years have been corrected. 1. OL not “bullies” - Majors and Connor replaced with better run blockers in Umeozulu and Hutson. 2. RBs not inside runners - Instead of Wisner and Blue in the redzone, we have Baxter, Gibson, Clark and Simon. We will be running more gap scheme and inside zone as opposed to outside zone which Wisner and Blue were better at. While we had Gibson last year (and he was our best redzone runner), he was a true freshman who hadn’t figured out ball security. Hopefully, that has changed with a year of seasoning. Sark has been great in the redzone with the proper RB. 3. QB undersized and not mobile - Arch definitely cures that. Arch had an 80% redzone TD rate in 2024. He is big enough to sneak the ball and mobile enough where the defense must account for him in the run/scramble game. 4. Sideshow Burt - while we want TDs, our kicker won’t miss chip shots. 5. Turnovers - remember the aTm game where two TOs in the redzone changed the complexion of the game? This one is to be determined, but I don’t see Arch fumbling on slides or making lazy throws to the perimeter. 3 Quote
