Unfortunately, a lot is being done to destroy UT Austin's academic standing because some want to play politics. Extreme politics. There is even a new "Civitas" school being created to teach the benefits of "small government". It's becoming Orwellian in this country.

There's going to be a reputation difference between grads pre and post 2020. Just the reality. As an alumnus, it really sucks to see this dumbing down happening.

I’d love to be on a message board with zero politics talk. I left OB because ketch allows it too often. IT and OTF to date don’t allow it on the sports board.

I don’t agree with any of this, other than the fact that he is not a teacher.   I am sure that average test scores will go up, not down.    As we watch Harvard and Penn and Columbia get taken to the woodshed for antisemitism, we won’t tolerate it. 
 

Jim is no liberal, but he is also not MAGA.  Jim is his own man, and certainly doesn’t not have the shapeshifting politics of MAGA.

As far as how this affects Texas athletics, this is who CDC will be reporting to now after the previous president Jay Hartzell took the SMU job with the same title.  As long as CDC, Davis, and Eltife are all aligned, Texas athletics should continue to hum and stack Directors’ Cups for years to come.  Should be good from an athletics standpoint.
