LonghornFan4Ever Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Comparing this to previous years, this is further proof the talent gap between Texas and the top programs in college football is closing. If you sort by player average, Texas is #2 on this list. These rankings don't tell the entire story, but it is a testament to the job Sark and his staff have done turning this roster around since they arrived. Just need to add some more hardware to the trophy case. https://247sports.com/season/2025-football/collegeteamtalentcomposite/ 1 Quote
NothinButDaHorns34 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Huge year for deboer. He better make the playoffs. No excuse to lose to schools like Oklahoma and Vanderbilt this year. Quote
alrightalrightalright Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The drop from 4 to 5 seems to be where tier 1 ends with the 40 point gap. Gotta stay healthy and play clean this year and we’ll have a great chance Quote
tsip92 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Since 2022 Texas hasn’t been out of the top 6. We were 4th last year too. Talent hasn’t been the issue, just need to get over the hump. Quote
Quinncent McManning, Jr. Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Not a totally fair comparison of talent when you consider guys like taaffe, tre moore, tre wisner, jack endries and brad spence are not blue chip recruits on this list. We should be top 2 at worst Quote
genevalonghorn Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago These stats cover up the fact that tOSU has the best OL in the history of football, regardless of level. 1 Quote

We should be top 2 at worst I agree, but if you sort that list by average, they are #2 behind Georgia. That sounds about right. What I find the most interesting about this list is two of the top picks to win the natty, Penn State and Clemson, are just inside the top 10. They're going the Michigan route by trying to win with experienced rosters. Quote
