...and we have to endure the growing pains. A lot of dudes are finally starting for the first time and they just don't have the game experience to be playing at a very high level. As long as we are improving each game, the best is yet to come. A good example is Arch's awareness of the situation. He wants to make plays when it might be best to run or just eat the play. Simmons is like a mountain goat in heat, he just wants to bang heads, when subtlety might be best on that play. Sark knows what he's doing. Patience is not our strong point.

The team, especially the offense, is very young and inexperienced.  They are going to to have to be patient as well as very focused over the next two weeks to get the most of their growing opportunities.

Exactly why some of us were calling for more experienced portal help at WR, RB and OL during the offseason. Just not enough starting experience or explosiveness on this offense.

That would only serve as a band aid. Meaning going to the portal for positions you have players at who just lack game experience only kicks the can down the road. You have to find out if your pups are going to bite.

So why portal Endries? Golden? Bond? AD Mitchel?

I think coaches know their teams better than media and fans do.

They felt they needed a TE and a WR. They got one of each.

They opted for straight development at OL. We’ll see if that pays dividends down the road.

i like our young tightends.  they all flashed.  Washington who is the Redshirt Freshman probably had the "worst" game with his drop and missing a block that led to a sack/fumble.  But Nick Townsend is going to do some damage as a blocker, and I can't wait to see him with ball in hands as Gerry would say.  Winston also had a nice catch with good yards after the catch.
