Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 10 hours ago Moderators Posted 10 hours ago Steve Sarkisian told reporters on Monday that Texas running back CJ Baxter will NOT play this weekend vs. Sam Houston State. Baxter was injured with a hamstring issue on the first play of the game against UTEP. "We don't think it's overly significant," Sarkisian said. "But he'll be out this week to get him ready for SEC play," Texas rolled out James Simon, Christian Clark and Jerrick Gibson as a result. Sarkisian did not provide a firm status on Tre Wisner who has been sidelined with a hamstring issue as well. Texas will evaluate the third year running back as the week continues. 1 2 3 Quote
drag worm Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Sit Baxter and Wisner. Need them for UF/OU. Unleash Simon! 2 Quote
hookem1014 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago CJ is Texas just being extra cautious with their injured players given the level of opponents they’ve been playing? I’m wondering how many of them will be active vs Florida Quote
John F. Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) Last year RBs stuff was popping, this year just straining, so that’s an improvement I guess. Edited 6 hours ago by John F. Quote
Texas fan in Georgia Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Give me James Simon at RB1 this weekend. Dude can be a real weapon. Even if C4 doesn’t get 100% we can still have a 1-2 punch with Wisner and Simon Quote

I think Sark and Texas believe they can win these games without their key guys who are battling injuries, and they are right. On top of that, I think they are hoping to get the young TEs up to speed and looks at Simon + the WR room. 1 Quote
tsip92 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I don’t doubt that this team can beat SHSt without Wisner and Baxter, but this team has zero offensive continuity. They may end up being physically ready for UF and OU but they aren’t likely to be ready to execute on the offensive side of the ball. Sark is playing with fire. 1 1 Quote
4thandFive Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If we’re only up 7-0 again at the half I’M out vs SJSU 🫣😭 Quote

The continuity into SEC play is a concern. Will already be without Baxter this game. Would like to see every starter for the UF game stay healthy and play a full game against OU, too. We need to start piling reps together as a unit. That’s about all we can ask at this point with non-con 75% complete. 1 Quote
