Bobby Burton Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Fellas, there were no Jahdae Barrons or Andrew Mukubas playing for the Horns yesterday. And when you lose Jelani McDonald and don’t have Michael Taaffe, well, you can be had. My point? It’s not coaching. It’s talent and/or inexperience. 2 Quote
Sundancekid Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Why aren’t pur backups as good as our experiences starters? Lol. 1 1 Quote

It also doesn’t seem Derek Williams is back to 100% or to the level he was playing at last year Quote
Oldest Horn Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Unpopular take: I’ll let Sark and PK figure it out. Quote

Consistently giving 8 yard cushions while playing bail technique is on the coaches. PK automatically playing prevent defense when we have anything more than a 7 point lead is coaching. PK just plays soft in the secondary. 2 Quote

From what I understand PK calls the defense, the secondary coordinator is in charge of the alignments and coverages on the back end. Requires good coordination between the two units. Missing players shouldn’t excuse poor basic zone play. 1 Quote
Traves Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago That 4th and 19 conversion from the Vandy 1 really was disappointing. Not sure how that can even happen. 1 Quote

Akina (and Nansen for that matter) believe in man coverage. PK is your zone man. The only reason to play zone against Vandy is to keep eyes on Pavia. That doesn’t mean that you have to play so far off receivers though. Quote
bgreen04 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago The fact that we never covered stowers who was their best receiving threat is simply unbelievable. He was wide open all the time. Terrible game plan Quote
Steamboat Willie Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Obviously Akina isn’t a long term solution for many reasons. Quote
