Brandon Harris on the Recruiting Trail

While Texas looks for its new defensive line coach, Steve Sarkisian has elevated Texas' Director of Recruiting, Brandon Harris to the 10-man coaching staff to allow him to get on the road to recruit.

Harris was out in Louisiana Tuesday afternoon, checking in on a pair of powerhouses in the area.

First stop was at Westgate High School, home to 2025 CB Jaboree Antoine and former home of Texas S Derek Williams.

Soon thereafter, Harris made the trip to University Lab, home to 2025 LB Keylan Moses (LSU commit) and the No. 2 overall player in the 2026 class, OT Lamar Brown.

That feels like we’re probably taking a reset for the interior defensive line coaching search. Sark probably thought he had a hire near the finish line.  If not, I feel we would have activated Harris weeks ago.

I know Sark will find the right guy. Good to have another “coach” out on the road until then!

Harris actually just extended an offer to Lamar Brown on his visit to University Lab this afternoon.

Is recruiting University Lab even worthwhile? How many have strayed from LSU? 😄

Good stuff CJ, is Keylan any relation to Dylan the former Bama LB?

Yes, younger brother. Texas had interest last spring, though I bet we see a prioritization of the DFW LBs.
