Texas fan in Georgia Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago First rankings of the CFP poll come out Tuesday, from here on out these are the only rankings that matter. Where do yall see Texas ? I’m thinking anywhere from 13-18. The more dominant Ohio st looks, the less I think that loss is gonna be held against Texas. Question is gonna be how does the committee view the Florida loss? They played Georgia close today, but your record is your record. Texas is tied for 3rd in the SEC also. Quote
Texas fan in Georgia Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Texas also has 2 top 10 wins on the season.. has to be taken into account 2 Quote
Neil Leininger Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) My computer poll has them at #11, the top 2 loss team. Top 12 as of right now without the night games being completed. 1. Indiana (B1G) 2. aggy (SEC) 3. Ohio State 4. Alabama 5. Ole Miss 6. BYU (BIG 12) 7. Georgia Tech (ACC) 8. Texas Tech 9. Virginia 10. Georgia 11. Texas 12. Michigan 18. Memphis (AMERICAN) With NC State putting it on Georgia Tech, this would likely keep Texas in the Top 11, which is where you need to be because #12 will always be replaced by the G5 conference champion. Oregon might be the biggest fraud that will likely be in the Top 12 when the poll is released. They have played two teams with a winning record (1-1), and two teams that haven't won a game all season. Edited 5 hours ago by Neil Leininger Quote

Yeah, that would likely make Texas one of the few teams with two wins over other CFP ranked teams. Our SOS was already really helped tonight by MSU, OSU, and Kentucky all winning. cdibbs Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I don't care what OU ends up doing tonight, if Texas isnt above OU, the committee is showing their hand on what they think of that win. 1 Quote

Florida loss is gonna really hurt, especially against Miami and Notre Dame. But if we win out, which we probably have to, we would be 4-1 against top 10 teams before SEC champ game. Quote
alrightalrightalright Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Speaking of AP Poll, tomorrow should be our 800th appearance in the AP Poll. Only Ohio State, Michigan, OU, Alabama, Notre Dame, and USC have more appearances. 1 Quote

CHorn427 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Scenarios: I think 9-3 with a close loss to UGA and a win over a 11-1 or 10-2 TAMU would have us as the best 9 win team in the country. We would have to have help in that scenario obviously and make it as the 12 seed if at all. 10-2 would have us as the best 10 win team in the country, in the SEC CG with a potential to even win it, in which case we would likely be the 2 seed. A loss in the SEC CG in that scenario would probably put us as the 5 or 6 seed. 1 Quote
CGG Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago With GA Tech and Miami both losing, the ACC is probably down to only one playoff bid, which opens up another at large bid. 1 Quote

Texas winning out gives them head to head over A&M as a 1-loss in conference teams, but Mississippi only has 1 conference loss and would have the tiebreaker over Texas to make it to the SEC Championship game if both of them win out. NothinButDaHorns34 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago We should be around the 10-13 range IMO Quote

No we would have the tiebreaker over Ole Miss in the one conference loss scenario. tiebreakers are: 1. Head to head- not there 2. Record vs common opponents (both one loss, ours to Florida, Ole Miss to UGA) 3. Record vs common opponents starting with highest ranked opponents In this scenario, we beat UGA and Ole Miss lost to UGA so we would have the tiebreaker 1 Quote
