Roy Hinojosa Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I know it's been harped on enough, but what's the deal with our secondary? Why are we playing so far off the ball? The defense looks to be two different squads playing a different game. Stockton didn't even have to think because his first read was always 5 yards open, especially in their first two touchdown drives. It doesn't matter how good our pass rush is if we don't even have to make Stockton pause for even a second. If it's a lack of trust in our players, then you either didn't coach them up or you should have been more honest with yourselves in going to the portal. If you're saying we don't have Barron or Makuba, it's game ten of the season. We don't have another cornerback on this team who can play sticky coverage? All night Herbstreit was pointing out that Georgia was pretty much targeting the cornerback opposite of Muhammad. Like I said, it's game ten of the season, the fact no one has developed to be that guy is exposing. All season, it feels like we are playing with handcuffs on. I don't know if it's a lack of trust, coaching or players, maybe all of the above. Sark gets paid plenty of money to solve it, and needs to in a hurry. 2 Quote
NothinButDaHorns34 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I honestly don’t think its a lack of talent because that secondary is full of it, But i think its a communication, maturity and whole new secondary coaching staff issue. 2 1 Quote

We're still having communication issues this late in the season? Not trying to be combative, just bewildered. 2 Quote

I really feel like it’s multiple things and not just one definitive problem. I mean i wasn’t naive enough to think getting taaffe back would be the end all be all fix for secondary bust. You can communicate well, But if you can’t get your assignments done correctly then it’s all for not. Quote

Big Tex Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 1. We have always given big cushions for some reason. This was true under Herman too. 2. We’re running zone and Akina is a man technique coach. 3. Makuba and Barron were huge losses and difficult to replace. Quote

pinkman_90 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago My favorite part was when Sark tried to praise the adjustment they made (tightening up the coverage on the outside) as some big chess move. Dude the fans have been screaming for that for months and your ability to adjust BEFORE the game caused us to get in a 11 pt hole. 2 Quote
