Changing OL coaches midseason isn't going to do anything positive for us. It's not like there is somebody else on staff that can coach the position.

Demote him to tackles coach and bring in somebody else to coach and recruit IOL.

I think it's debatable (at best) if GG was ever a good QB in any system. I know he had a stint in the NFL and one decent year at SMU, but on the whole he was never a consistently good QB. Arch has looked like a great QB at time, including the second half of last season. I think he still has first round potential wheres GG never did once we saw his results at the colleagiate level.

Be friends with the HC. Same story as Jeff Banks.

We have a national championship winning HC on the athletic department payroll. Maybe Sark should ask him for advice.

The problem is the changes should have been made in the offseason. Maybe we could have made smaller changes during the bye week. Now there’s no time and we’re left with a slow motion train wreck until the end of the season.

This Florida offense is what we should be doing. Instead we’re “big game hunting” and coming up 3 and out over and over again.

I think we would have been better off with Mack for another year or two until we found a strong replacement. In retrospect CS was a desparation hire that really set the program back by ~5 years given the offensive talent bench was completely depleted by the end. I think Herman was in some ways the hatchet man - he got rid of the rot and got us pointed on the right trajectory again. He also left plenty of pieces (i.e. Bijan) for Sark to work with.

If we miss the playoffs this year CDC needs to sit down Sark and tell him he can be HC, or step back into an OC role, but he can't be both.

Wow that's the first time I have seen the play since watching it live. I cannot believe we lined up like that. Venerables must have been laughing his rear off at his good fortune.

His legs for one. He also has a live arm and can make every throw in the book, albeit not consistently (yet), which forces teams to respect the deep ball especially with our WRs. I would like to see more play action that takes advantage of these two threats, as well as more designed keepers.

Absolutely would not trust this punter. He has the slowest kicking motion I've seen in some time and the blocking has been abysmal. I think kicking the FG was the right call and the kicker was damned close.

With the exception of Arkansas all of the upcoming opponents have more dynamic offenses (in some cases, MUCH more dynamic) than those we've played to date ex-Ohio State. I don't think we can count of the defense holding all of these to 14 points or less.

Smart and Day know that a big part of college football (not NFL) is emotions and getting young men fired up. i’ve said it before on this forum and it was ridiculed for it but contrast the game day styles of Day versus Sark. Day is running up and down the sidelines, yelling at guys and refs, and extremely hands on. Sark is quietly taking notes and reading his play sheet. The latter is what you want from an OC, not a HC. The team adapts the personality of its coach and it’s why I believe we often come out flat and stay that way for most games.

The offense had the same set of problems with Ewers. Too much reliance on big plays which means zero rhythm and lopsided TOP. The biggest change since then is our special teams have fallen off a cliff from being ++ to somewhere between below average to terrible.
  16. Big Tex
I don't get the impression that Sark likes his QBs doing that. Too much of a control freak.
  17. Big Tex
What exactly is Sark trying to do on offense? Ewers not a good fit. Arch not a good fit. Based upon what I know, KJ isn't a good fit either. If the offense requires Tom Brady to work we might be waiting forever.

Mora sure has fallen a long way. Nothing screams “has been” more than a former NFL coach taking a HC role at a bottom feeder college program.

Separating fools from their money since 2018.

Venerables reminds me of Charlie Strong. Nice guy and a good DC but in WAY over his head as a HC.
  21. Big Tex
Not many playmakers on this team, or at least they're not showing up tonight. I can't think of anybody that has stood out.
  22. Big Tex
QB draw with 1:40 and 70 yards left to go?
  23. Big Tex
Maybe we should have tried running it earlier 🫣
  24. Big Tex
It feels like we relied too heavily on the portal. I still don't understand why we fired PK or pushed out guys like Wisner. It feels like we have a bunch of random guys playing together rather than a team that has gelled.

Had a WR open right in the middle there. Jeez
