  1. This guy has a higher ceiling than most give him credit for. Big season loading
  2. Hope they surprise me, but I’m expecting a relatively comfortable loss
  3. Shocking to me that a portal RB doesn’t seem to be a priority. Fingers crossed!
  4. Going to have to tip my hat to Terry and the staff as well as the players. I wrote them off but they’ve proven more resilient than I anticipated. We look like a tourney team now, let’s hope they make it!
  5. Per Inside Texas Livingstone is doing very well behind the scenes and was close to breaking through to playing on the field this season. They also report that he is super fast. Manning has a legit connection with Wingo and Moore. You could see it when he played. Most his second team reps were with Wingo back in the spring and summer and it showed. I think both those guys have good years, and Wingo has a monster season
  6. Add to that, everything I’ve read has said that Livingstone has legit, legit speed. Butler is also quick twitched. Freshman…we shall see. Wingo is far, far from slow. That’s a big, fast dude
  7. Dang impressive. Cant wait to watch these guys play. Are you high on any of our prospects outside the top 300?
  8. Bad play call plain and simple. I’m ok with a toss sweep if it’s a misdirection play or even to the wide side with Blue. That play was doomed from the start
  9. Seems obvious. Let’s hope they do it. I’d love to see more slants and crossers and digs
  10. We play our A or B game we win. We need to focus on our execution, cleaning up the penalties, playing with good awareness of game context, etc and we win this game by 10+.
  11. Two possibilities: 1) Quinn’s injury led to him playing poorly against OU, Georgia, and Vandy (due to physical and mental components) 2) The first 3 games were fake news and Quinn actually hadn’t improved, as evidenced by the OU, Georgia, and Vandy games. I know which one seems more plausible to my eyes.
  12. 38-24 has been my prediction all week and I’m sticking to it. Furthermore I think it’ll be 38-17 and they get a garbage time TD to make themselves feel better
  13. Texas 38 Other team 24 Hawkins proves to be a thorn in our side until figure him out. They grab early momentum but our quality takes over in the second half.
  14. Interesting comment about getting the DL straight. Assume he means they finally got the EDGE component down. Very interesting comment
  15. Semantics, but I think Cam is supposed to be a very good. I like Juan Davis to surprise as well. And give me DeAndre Moore too on offense.
  16. Loved those quotes! Man some of the best I’ve heard from recruits watching a practice. Seems that everyone was locked in, recruits included
  17. Lots of movers. Need some more movers at DT, but that’s about the only position I’m concerned about. Very fascinated how the WR rotation plays out. Is Gilbeau finally 100% or will he never be the same following the knee injury? I wasn’t sure which one you were saying in the article
  18. Seems like the receiver has to slow down in all these clips. Really hoping Ewers get that deep ball dialed in this year, could unlock everything on offense
  19. Looking like a 9, with a tough opening round game and a very challenging 2nd if we make it that far. But I know that I, for one, am thrilled they made the tourney. It was looking very iffy for a long while.
  20. Meh. All that matters is the big dance. Win one and I’m happy. Win two and I’m ecstatic. I don’t care much about this L. Plus need Disu and Brock as close to 100% as possible
  21. Agree. Ceiling is a 7 seed. I wouldn’t go for it personally, unless Hunter and Abmas just go off. Not risking Disu if it’s me
  22. Just my opinion but fans consistently tend to overrate conference tourney results and their potential impact on seeding. Whatever seed we are today is unlikely to improve unless we make a serious run in the tourney. Likewise if we lose the first game in the conference tourney I don’t think it’ll impact our seed. It seems to me year after year fans think these tourneys make a big difference and then are surprised when seeding looks about the same as it did before the tourney
  23. Gerry at some point I’d love your 10,000 ft view of Texas football recruiting. How are we doing in your eyes? Things trending well? Striking a good balance between OOS and instate recruits?
  24. Not Gerry but I think RT did well with the roster we have. The freshman both bailing really hurt the roster construction, and Shedrick/Weaver/Disu all being hurt during the offseason hurt as well. IMO we need to see how this offseason goes and how next season turns out. If he can get a good team next year between returning players/freshman signees/portal players than he may have a shot at sticking around. This roster was poorly constructed but it is what it is and it’s hard to know how much losing those freshman hurt RT’s vision for this team. Development has been hit and miss. Hunter seems like he has regressed. Weaver is getting better and better. Mitchell has developed but not as much as I hoped.
