  1. Looking forward to watching Rojas again.
  2. The feckless NCAA only has itself to blame for the current state of things.
  3. He’s added about 4-5mph of gas to his heater this week. Not sure how that happens, but glad it did. We made the #9 team look easy today.
  4. At work in a new job after 6 years toiling away at the previous gig. I won't have time to comment much, but will be listening. We will win. That is all.
  5. Our daughters share a birthday, Jeff. Mine just turned 25! Enjoy every moment, as the time goes by so fast!!
  6. The Zone don’t seem to be playing the game. Checked multiple sources, same two muppets jabbering. All good, will follow here. Thanks for keeping me up to date, Jeff & CJ!
  7. Does anyone know if the game is on the radio? The Texas Sports Player showed Baseball, but when I clicked it there were a couple of numpties debating whether Blake Griffin had actually cleared a VW Bug when doing a slam dunk or not. Surely there’s more to discuss on sports radio today.
  8. " What if C-A-T spelled dog?" - Billy Liucci 🤡
  9. "I wonder what would happen if my aunt had nuts.... I guess she'd be my uncle..." - Billy Liucci 🤡
  10. Very cool! Thanks for posting!
  11. I do a big cook-up over here in Australia every year for the SB. The fan favorite over the years has been my homemade chili. I also have an Aussie verison of queso which everyone seems to enjoy. Beyond that, I've done all the standards, but also some pulled pork sliders, pork ribs, cajun corn ribs, etc.
  12. The NCAA needs to get out of College Football, as they are destroying it through a lack of leadership. The changes (NIL, Portal, etc.) aren't necessarily causing all the havoc; it's the lack of clear direction from the governing body. The sport needs a commissioner, and yes, where we are now, sadly, a more NFL-centric model to put some guardrails in place for both the players and the coaches/ADs. I stopped watching the NFL, much like some of the others who commented, when I felt they were bringing politics into the broadcasts. I don't care whether you're red or blue, just keep it out of my sports, please. It's the last refuge for many of us to come together and enjoy each other's company, and one of the reasons I enjoy this community so much. I've recently started watching the NFL again, so I can keep up with some of our recent draftees (Love watching Bijan run, even if it is for Atlanta). FWIW, the 'wokeness' or whatever seems to have all but been eliminated, which is a welcome development.
  13. Just because you don't understand what it means doesn't mean Pate is an idiot. Actually, what he's saying makes a lot of sense. He's basically making bowl games relevant again alongside the championship games. It gives teams like 2025 Texas one more opportunity to appeal to those choosing who makes it into the playoffs. If you don't get that, it's not likely Pate who's the idiot.
  14. Best name yet. Well done.
  15. God bless! Amazing work by the medical staff, Jordan, his family, and all those sending prayers and well wishes.
  16. Portal Week + $1 Sub Promo ≠ Happy Meal Combo
  17. Not necessarily dangerous imho, but definitely different. IF we continue to produce similar numbers into the NFL, it's a bit of a moot point. When and where we get the NFL prospects (HS, Portal, grad transfer, etc) from isn't as important as getting them. Texas is well-positioned in this era and (to date) seem to be operating well in the environment.
  18. Not sure how many Cam Colemans and Hollywood Smothers have to occur before people stop with the 'Sky is Falling' panic. Here is my weekly reminder to the pant-pissers: We will be fine. Take a lap.
  19. Good take, CJ. The landscape has changed immensely. IMHO, it's lazy to blame Flood for the loss of Brooks (he can be blamed for other things). The likelihood he has been recruited behind the scenes to a school who will feature him as a starter is almost a certainty. Texas will continue to lose key long-term project linemen in the new era unless something changes. We will also gain key pieces, so I think we're monitoring the new ways to see what becomes a norm vs a bad portal year when it comes to OL and other key positions.
  20. I wouldn't say we're building a team through the portal right now. We have taken 13 new commitments to date, the second lowest in the top 10. You have teams like Penn St. taking 35+ (so far), LSU at 26, and so on. We're entering an era where this is just the reality, and I still believe we're doing it the right way. It's going to be a balance, and in the next couple of years, a pattern will emerge that validates methods; we just aren't there yet. Losing Brooks hurts, and it's easy to blame Flood, but it may just be a sign of the times.
