  1. Very happy for this young man! Hope they let him eat!
  2. Sad for DW and the D will miss him. Heal up and come back stronger next year.
  3. BYU is playing good football... for BYU. Combine that with they don't have a ranked team on their remaining schedule and they could actually go undefeated in the regular season. They're my B12 CG against Iowa Steak.
  4. Just a quick note on a specific play: At 11:13 in the 2nd qtr, Hawkins rolls right after being flushed out by Burke. Burke doesn't give up on the play, attempting to chase Hawkins down after he sheds the block. He realizes he isn't going to be able to wrap him up, so he dives and throws his arm into the backside of Hawkins so hard you can hear the slap. To Hawkins' credit he didn't go down, but I guarantee you he felt it and woke up this morning with a bruise the size of Big Tex! Seemingly everyone on this team is bought in and playing hard through the whistle.
  5. I feel like we're going to get to the end of the season undefeated and people will be saying we aren't that good because Michigan wasn't the same team (defending Ntl Champs), 0u is in a down year, Georgia wasn't 'Georgia', atm just sucks, etc. I don't care what league you're in, our defense is playing lights out. Every team will have pieces missing (we're down 4 RBs..) this time of year. It's not our job to keep them healthy. If we come in healthier than the other team, it's another mark of excellence for our program. Our S&C staff and our depth of roster is part of what makes this a championship-caliber team.
  6. You're not wrong, but we can only play what's in front of us, and we have dominated what we've played against. If we beat Gorgia next week, that should quell the talk about not having played anyone yet.
  7. Oregon seems to have made this a 'defense optional' game.
  8. The Saban Mystique has left Bama. Respect the program, but they are not the same. Feel like they may go through their own Post-Mack era if they don't get on track soon.
  9. In this game, and based on how bad OUs offense has been this year, I'm deferring. I've got confidence in our defense to get us the ball right back after kickoff and then we get it to start the second half. Other games this year, give me the ball first, but in this one, I don't see it as a risk to give it them just to give it back to us.
  10. Vandy man crying his eyes out. Bless him. I'd pretend I'm tougher than that, but I may have shed a little tear when we beat Bama on their home field by double-digits.
  11. That's all she wrote, folks!!!! Holy Vanderbilt, Batman!!!
  12. Not so hot take: I'll take our run defense over Bama's.
  13. Sometimes they're just better than the other guy. A lot of teams 'accounted' for Bijan and X-Man. How'd that work out?
  14. Turns out the talent and coaching are pretty good at Bama. Who knew...
  15. Don't go into a shell now, Vandy! Stay aggressive.
  16. It feels like Vandy's going to get their heart broken, but the Vandy QB reminds me so much of Sam. I think he's going to close it out, but orifices are puckered.
  17. Lol! Who had Vandy dropping 40 on Bama on their bingo card this weekend?! College Football is the greatest game ever played.
  18. Interesting topic. One thing to consider is that many of our top-rated would-be seniors are now in the NFL.
  19. Ah well, I messed up. Regardless, the number is the same.
  20. You're 100% correct, my bad. I was thinking about the one Cook had taken away due to holding. I'm trying to figure out how to edit the OP, but in the meantime, thank you.
  21. Just posted on the WR primary targets becoming a bit more clear. The snap counts completely support it. Bond and Golden look to be the top guys for Quinn and who Sark trusts to have on the field.
  22. After week 1 against CoSt saw Quinn spread it around to 11 different targets, Week 2 against Michigan was reduced to 5 including the TE and RBs. It looks like Bond and Golden are emerging as Ewers' prime targets and he seemingly has the best rapport with these two guys at the WR position so far. IMHO, they are closely followed by Cook, Wingo and Moore. With so many weapons, the WR room is seemingly the deepest it's been since I've been watching Texas football. I expect Wingo to get increased targets as the season wears on, but it does seem QE has his preferred targets in Bond & Golden. Receptions leaders so far: Helm - 9 Blue - 9 Golden - 9 Bond - 8 Wingo - 4 Cook - 4 (including his TD catch that was taken away for a BS holding call) I'm interested to see how things progress from here and if Sark keeps rotating these guys in as much, or if the 'circle of trust' starts solidifying to a handful of guys like it did last year with Worthy, Whittington and Mitchell. Thoughts?
  23. We need 15 yds to crack 400. Let's go get it.
  24. Gerry, who was the recruit who is between Texas and Michigan at the game today? Surely this has to help.
