  1. In there like swimwear! Thinking I'm the first Aussie resident to make the OG a reality.
  2. Half way through spring practice, it's pretty early to be saying the defense has regressed. The only part of the defense that has potentially taken a step back is interior D-line which was to be expected with Sweat & Murphy heading to the NFL. All other areas of defense (based on reports here and other sites) have seen the secondary take a big step forward, the LB's are playing at a high level and the edges are better than they've been in years. I read scrimmage reports from three sites with most saying the defense won the day until the red-zone drills where the offense was very effective in scoring. As this was at the end of the day, some put this down to conditioning on the defense and some said the run-fits needed to be better. Regardless, none of this is overly concerning to me half way through spring ball. So I guess my answer to your question is, no, I don't think the defense has regressed that much. The offense is being led by an awesome O-Line, DEEP stable of quality RB's, and a 3rd year Heisman contender at QB. They will make a lot of reasonably good defenses look ordinary this year imho.
  3. I sure as hell hope so! He's a guy I've been waiting to break out and unleash all of his natural ability. Would love to see him work his way up the draft-board this year.
  4. This program is so healthy right now. I honestly don't think I've seen it like this in my lifetime. Mack had some generationally great teams, but top-to-bottom health of the program, I don't think it's been better. Hartzel, CDC, and Sark have proven a next-level upper management team. The attrition will be another mark of how much this roster has improved. The guys who leave will go to solid programs, not because they weren't happy at Texas, but because they couldn't get on the field due to the level of player (talent and effort) in front of them. We will lose some that we all had high hopes for, but the reality is it will be the best thing for the player and our team imho.
  5. 2022... Bijan, Roschon, Keilan, Brooks, Blue. 2023... Brooks, Baxter, Keilan, Blue, Red, Wisner. 2024... Baxter, Blue, Red, Gibson, Wisner, Clark. Looking like all of those guys will get a run in the League when all said and done. And to your point, hard to believe, but I think the collective depth is actually better this year. We are definitely in a purple patch when it comes to RBs on the 40 acres! Choice has earned money! #RBU
  6. It feels like we have solid momentum here, CJ. In your opinion, what's our biggest obstacle to flipping Moore?
  7. CJ, has he been working with anyone? Looks like a natural mover in the pocket with the ability to 'feel' pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. Hard to teach that IMHO if a kid doesn't have some natural gifts to start with. Stronger arm than I expected as well for a kid that age. Pretty accurate even on the move.
  8. Gerry, it looks like Rink is going to be committing soon. Am I right in saying when Davis left it seems like Rink lost a little interest here and the feeling was mutual when Baker came on board and had a chance to assess Rink? I know he's a legacy, but sometimes kids just don't fit what you're trying to do schematically.
  9. So who won the race between QE and AM?
  10. Thanks, Gerry, solid list. Do you think the number will be 25 this year? If we can stay around 5 for the class with 25, that's another solid year for the guys. I think what impresses me most with this staff is they recruit needs first and know what they want at specific positions. Star rankings are good indicators for us fans and likely to get kids on radars of some schools with smaller staffs, but I honestly don't think Sark and crew really pay any attention to it. Am I wrong there?
  11. I answered the online questionaire and had Mayfield, Murphy and Colt as answers, so definitely aligned to the masses. One biggest what-ifs I didn't hear mentioned was what would have happened if David Ash hadn't walked away after injury. He was really coming on as a skilled QB, I've always thought if he had stayed healthy we may have avoided QB purgatory for all those years.
  12. Actually his 4.69 was faster than what his agent expected him to do. Most had him around 4.7-4.73 going into it. So he's pretty much on target. I do agree, I've also thought he was a bit faster, but he doesn't really need to be.
  13. Sorry, Ger-Bear, missed the follow up message.... or just wanted to believe.... dream killer 😉
  14. J Wells has CB'd Jonah to 0u at 70%. Slightly conflicting info it could seem.
