  1. Oof. Now I have to go back and watch it. I rarely rewatch our losses, but it is the offseason and I'm running out of streaming options...
  2. These early games are brutal in Australia. 12pm = 3am here. Right on the cusp of, 'Do I start drinking late and stay up all night for the game?', or 'Do I get up at 2:30am and start drinking early?'... Either way, I'll be there, but damn.
  3. Sanborn got picked up as an UDFA by Atlanta, but haven't heard on Bush yet. *edit, Bush got signed by the Patriots I believe...
  4. Apparently 4 major campuses at this stage with more likely to jump in with 'mysterious' funding, but that wasn't the question. Anywho, all good. We can just agree to disagree. I think young men, regardless of race, choose campuses for different reasons and some of them are how they are brought up and where. Some prefer the big cities and some prefer a more rural town. The OP who started this whole thing assumes all Black men should want to go to liberal campuses only. All good, I just think people are a little more diverse.
  5. Just a quick follow-up. Do you think the protests happening on campus today with Damonic there will be helpful? If his family are seeing this, do you think they would want him here or in Louisiana? I mean some people thrive on this kind of thing, but if it's my kid, I'm not wanting to send him into that kind of crazy if he has solid options. Not everyone likes mayhem. As previously stated, I don't think it's a huge factor, but it's probably not helping get him to Texas, but hey, what do I know?
  6. I'm not crying, you are! Wish he could have been with the team longer. Outstanding receiver and great young man!
  7. 100% agree on location being a HUGE factor to these kids. Most universities don't have the luxury of being in an amazing city like Austin, so for most kids it's a MAJOR plus if you're going down the list of what makes UT attractive to a kid. I'm not too sure the town the school is in would be far down the list, though. People have misconstrued what I'm saying I think. Replace liberal and conservative with Big City and Small Town or Urban and Rural. Maybe that helps make my point a little easier and gets people past the CNN/Fox News definitions of liberal and conservative. Didn't mean to make this political, though some will still want to push it that way. My main point is that many kids of many ethnic backgrounds prefer to live in more rural environments / towns based on how and where they were brought up. Many of them don't. Pretty simple.
  8. As I said, to each their own. I don't think it's as simple as just saying all young Black athletes will prefer liberal cities. All good, just offering alternative perspectives. For me, there's no way in hell I'd want to go to Norman over Austin, but it happens every year for a lot of young men. I guess we don't have to understand it, just accept that some think differently.
  9. In my experience quite a few. Growing up in a small country town in Texas, a lot of the guys I grew up with (Black, White, Hispanic, etc.) much preferred a smaller town for their university years. Conservative does not equal racist where I'm from, but hey, each to their own.
  10. Their disappointing season was still 10-3 in Skeletor's second season. I would never choose OU, but I can see why some kids would based on the contrast to Austin (liberal big city vs conservative country town vibe). That said, I think he ends up with the good guys. Sark has things rolling right now and if he wants to be a part of a championship run, Texas is the place to be right now.
  11. What are the numbers looking like, Bobby, and roughly how much does a round cost these days at Posse East?
  12. He's 6'2" 320lbs according to the TCU site. Hard to move.
  13. Quick one for the mods, I have heard Bear and Mykel Williams are close and that there were some rumors around Mykel going to USC to play with Bear. Any chance if Bear does look at Texas Mykel may be interested as well? Not exactly a position of dire need, but that would be a hell of a portal duo!! I've not heard anything about Mykel in the portal and the rumors to USC were probably more realistic based on Mykel's early commitment to the Trojans, but I suppose anything is possible these days.
  14. Not succeeding at USC doesn't bother me much, as I don't think LR has a culture that inspires guys to be better than what they show up as. Not succeeding at Georgia is a different story, although he was young. It could be all the moving around as a young man added to the attitude. Maybe he's ready to find a home in a good culture and be developed. If he does end up here and buys into what Sark & crew are selling, he could up his draft stock considerably one would think. Quick note on Bobby's comment on how they could afford not to chase the last time he entered the portal. I know we need big humans at DT who can stuff the run, but I don't think we need it so bad we have to chase someone who may become a cancer in the locker room. I'd rather work with the guys we have and roll the dice in that scenario. If they can make it work, great, the kid has all the tools. I trust the staff to make the call.
  15. In there like swimwear! Thinking I'm the first Aussie resident to make the OG a reality.
  16. Half way through spring practice, it's pretty early to be saying the defense has regressed. The only part of the defense that has potentially taken a step back is interior D-line which was to be expected with Sweat & Murphy heading to the NFL. All other areas of defense (based on reports here and other sites) have seen the secondary take a big step forward, the LB's are playing at a high level and the edges are better than they've been in years. I read scrimmage reports from three sites with most saying the defense won the day until the red-zone drills where the offense was very effective in scoring. As this was at the end of the day, some put this down to conditioning on the defense and some said the run-fits needed to be better. Regardless, none of this is overly concerning to me half way through spring ball. So I guess my answer to your question is, no, I don't think the defense has regressed that much. The offense is being led by an awesome O-Line, DEEP stable of quality RB's, and a 3rd year Heisman contender at QB. They will make a lot of reasonably good defenses look ordinary this year imho.
  17. I sure as hell hope so! He's a guy I've been waiting to break out and unleash all of his natural ability. Would love to see him work his way up the draft-board this year.
  18. This program is so healthy right now. I honestly don't think I've seen it like this in my lifetime. Mack had some generationally great teams, but top-to-bottom health of the program, I don't think it's been better. Hartzel, CDC, and Sark have proven a next-level upper management team. The attrition will be another mark of how much this roster has improved. The guys who leave will go to solid programs, not because they weren't happy at Texas, but because they couldn't get on the field due to the level of player (talent and effort) in front of them. We will lose some that we all had high hopes for, but the reality is it will be the best thing for the player and our team imho.
  19. 2022... Bijan, Roschon, Keilan, Brooks, Blue. 2023... Brooks, Baxter, Keilan, Blue, Red, Wisner. 2024... Baxter, Blue, Red, Gibson, Wisner, Clark. Looking like all of those guys will get a run in the League when all said and done. And to your point, hard to believe, but I think the collective depth is actually better this year. We are definitely in a purple patch when it comes to RBs on the 40 acres! Choice has earned money! #RBU
