  1. What I'm saying is... the plan was NEVER to support RT. Remember, he got his contract so late, he didn't get a chance to recruit early, being interim. He was doomed from start, and they knew that. He did too! That's why I said he gets no tears from me. He knew it was a short term job. You can't convince me either one of these teams he's fielded have been immensely talented, and Beard's holdovers were the same guys we wanted to transfer. This was never a RT lead our program type of deal. This was a band-aid deal. The Elite 8 run and the guys on that squad advocating for RT put CDC and the gang between a rock and a hard place. Face a mutiny, or give this dude a short deal until we can find someone we really want to lead this program.
  2. Sark didn't have to convince ANYONE that Colin Simmons was other worldly, my guy. It's not what he spent NIL on, it's what he had to buy with what was given!!! There is no equivication in the commitment to UT football and baseball and the basketball program. None. Ever. In the history of this program, PERIOD! When RT gets fired, I think, for the first time, Texas will make a big name hire and actually allocate the proper resources to recruit and produce teams that can score 80-100 points a game, with elite athletes. Too many good players in this state and across the nation for them not to. You can't convince me Texas is serious about basketball and BYU getting the #1 player. I seen this same NIL/Board of Regents go get Justus Terry. Can't sell me that RT saw Kaluma and said..yep.. thats all we need with Sheddrick. 🤷🏿‍♂️🤘🏿
  3. Again...RJ coached TJ Ford... i think he knows a pg when he sees one.
  4. Maybe RT doesn't decide who gets what...? Then football program has a GM...juss saying.
  5. That isn't a coaches duties. You see the football team has a GM....right? Commitment to the program..is the question. That's how you get commits.
  6. Ron Holland going pro didn't help, either. I also believe he wasn't able to recruit the 1st year due to the uncertainty of his hiring after the season and not establishing he was going to be the guy. Any recruit that was out there was already locked in with other coaches by then. So.. in all honesty, how much effective recruiting could he be expected to do?
  7. Not good but the man has been coaching basketball damn near as long as I've been living. RT has a bunch of players, but not a team, and it's a reflection of the NIL/Transfer portal era. Sometimes you can't just shop at different stores and put an outfit together.
  8. I'm sure CDC is a bit too accomplished to help a man pack his belongings.
  9. Those players told us who coached them. Go back and listen.
  10. Beard wasn't in those trenches with those guys. When they did pressers, it was all about RT and the job he was doing. It's been awhile though... people forget when it's not going well. No pity party here.. it is what it is. Just funny no one acknowledges the lack of commitment to men's basketball when it comes to acquiring talent. BYU figured it out before us.. and it's just shocking to me after knowing the deficient post play we had on deck... they did little to nothing. Just smells like a lame duck/give him low grade ingredients and expect a 5 star meal type deal, as far as expectations...when in all actuality, he was a band-aid moreso than the guy you really wanted to give the keys to.
  11. Piss poor coaching with an Elite 8 on his resume....🤷🏿‍♂️. Wait.. I guess that was Beard's success...??!
  12. Motivated donors donate... it doesn't take a coach pep talk. They donate because they want to see the school be successful. You think Michigan is donating and spending NIL like they are from a Sherrone Moore pep talk?
  13. What recruit is looking to head to UTEP or Fresno? Maybe you stumble upon a Kawhi Leonard, but it wasn't like they had a budget or setup to compete on a major level.
  14. Sheddrick and Kaluma have been ass cheeks in the paint. Onyema is a foul machine and Kent is limited athletically. Larry should've started at PG all season... but a more effective paint presence was paramount and the people who make decisions left RT flapping in the wind. We knew all off-season they needed help in the paint.
  15. Well.. Chavez is going to command it..wherever she decides to go. Now... understand, the men's basketball ball coach, knowing RT is getting the axe and assuming we're getting a big name, is going to highlight that commitment to her and require an equal effort on the men's side.
  16. Well...being a UT lifer counts for something when it comes to discounts... and I won't go into the opportunity conundrum when it comes to particular coaches, but I'm sure RT understood it wouldn't last long but the visibility and opportunity would set him up after it was cooked.
  17. 3 million to coach Texas... top guys are making around 10 and up. Let's you know what they thought of him and those last 2 years were for show. Year 3 right now.. and it's curtains.
  18. Band aid... and the players that played under him damn near threatened a mutiny if he didn't get the job. Go back and watch those Big 12 champ week pressers and the tournament pressers on that run. It was RT this and that and he's the catch for this team.
  19. Htf not? Who would go to the portal? Cj and Christian are hurt. Tre is the #1 and ain't built like that. Simon is going to get clock as a freshman and Rickey knows he's headed for a redshirt... with possible carries in the non con schedule that's soft. I don't get the fear! If Jerrick leaves... having been here all this time, so be it. He hasn't had an Adrian Peterson like freshman campaign.
  20. If Jerrick Gibson jumped in the portal at this point, what do we really lose? If he runs from competing...already having been here, we don't need him on the 40.. and that goes for any other kid. Tre isn't built like that... Clark and Baxter are hurt and Simons' a beast and Ricky knows he needs to redshirt and get bigger and stronger. Soooooooooooooooo......🤷🏿‍♂️
  21. Spring ball has to play out so we can see what RB's become available. Any guy they take has to be a needle mover and durable. We can't do like we did last year and get a guy who's talent level isn't SEC level and isn't durable. We need a guy who has snaps and can be counted on for snaps when the bullets start flying.🤘🏿
  22. I didn't say that. I believe there is something to having played the game at a high level, but other than that, I believe if you're choosing or selecting the talent alone, sex shouldn't disqualify them. I'd rather listen to Mina Kimes break down football than 85% of the people that do it that HAVEN'T played in college or the league... and that's any sport. Of course networks have to account for the male dominated audience that will be watching, but you also must consider there is a major percentage of your watchers that are women. For goodness sakes, women have a large part in producing the talent on the field, because they bore them. Are you threatened by the possibility of a woman actually being able to do the job well?
  23. How many years did RT get son his deal? Tell me... quick. Then ask yourself... if he's recruiting your kid, do you wanna send him to that coach, knowing he got hired on an interim basis with a 2 or 3 year deal? How long does it take for guys to finish their eligibility and how does that affect any one and done guy? Does it affect the NIL commitment from that university and Board of Regents....? Of course you wanna make money, but if he's successful and you arm him with the proper tools, then you're in a rock and a hard place tryna fire him and get the guy you REALLY want because of the results he's attained. Just food for thought...🤷🏿‍♂️🫡🤘🏿
  24. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians...story of this season. Easy to see that they all have 1 on 1 game but have no feel or timing for each other as a team. Pope never should've been the starter at pg. He's the 6th man. Kaluma and Sheddrick are soft as baby 💩 inside and Tre is a liability on defense. He doesn't move his feet on defense well enough to challenge shots with the wingspan and size that he has. Tremon Mark has no pace control and this team sorely misses Kendall Weaver. Nobody but a young Devin Pryor or Jason Kent does the dirty work and play with smart aggression and effort like he did last season, this season. RT has a bunch of nice pzzle pieces that don't fit.
  25. Probably this comment. Tell your wife we said hi and we hope she finds a way out.
